  1. What is the best Gamin Nuvi to use in your car for caching, including cache icons and information? Right now I use a Gamin 450T for caching. I'm looking for a good nuvi to use in my car to guide me to cache locactions and include cache icons and information. I'm not a computer nerd so I like something easy to use. I do know how to do pocket querys. Thanks
  2. I just put out a new cache and noticed I was limited to ten attributes. When I looked at the cache page there were twelve spaces. I never noticed this before. What gives? Why the extra two spaces?
  3. I some time take a pee break after a find. You better bring a wide angle too .
  4. Awesome! However, that doesn't address my question. Did the Mojave suddenly close? Is there any reason folks can't make a Mojave run now? Why would such a run be considered "rare"? Good point. You can do a Mojave run with or without a Power Trail. Having a power trail does not make the Mojave, nor does it ruin the Mojave. It does make it harder to plane out a trip that focuses on more interesting caches instead of the cookie cutters. Perhaps a power trail attribute that could be filtered. Oh! What am I thinking?! We don't need no stinking changes! Why don't you just filter out caches that require Scuba gear. That's why we tagged them all with that attribute. Also the aliens all said it was fine for the caches to be placed where they put them, and so did the land owner whos cows graze on her thousands of acres. Whtwolfden, Why did you not submit the ET caches under your account cache page? It looks like a fake account was created for just this series. Interesting
  5. I know this question may have been asked. But searching this topic sucks. I keep getting an error message. Ok, here's my question. Just got a Oregon 450 and want to load my pocket query. Do I need to download GSAK, EasyGPS or one of the many others? Oregon box says it's gpx ready. If so, which one? There are so many to choose from. What is most prefered and why? Thanks
  6. Just got my oregon 450. There is no owners manual in the box and no CD manual. What gives? My 60csx came with a very nice owners manual. With what I paid for the 450, Garmin could have added a nice manual. Should I have recieved a CD or a owners manual? I did get that cheap start up booklet. And the could have thrown in a couple battries. Thanks
  7. I might get one at amazon about $360. Amazon seems to be a good place to shop.
  8. Yes I know this was asked in the past. But I can't find it. Here goes. What is the differance between the Garmin 400 and 450? Thanks
  9. Make a fuss about what? Was the cache not really found? When a cache is published there is a gap in time between when it's published and then found. This one was logged found as soon as I got the new cache notification. Does this not sound odd to you?
  10. As I sat at my computer a notification for a new cache was published with a FTF prize. When I looked at the log it was already found. MMMMMM Very strange. Do I make a fuss and email the CO, or do nothing? What are your thoughts?
  11. I'm one of those few people with a dial up connection. Maybe in the future I'll go with that fancy high speed thing. Right now dial up works fine when down loading to my 60CSx. It only takes a second to load coords. Now I'm thinking of getting one of those fancy Oregon 450 jobs and go paperless. Now for my question. Will it take forever to down load cache info ? I understand I would use the GPX to load the device, to do this. Please be nice, I am not a computer nerd. Thanks
  12. And no leaves, you can see some caches a 100 ft. away. Snow is fun, yeah betcha.
  13. I found a few on rest stops in South dakota, interstate 90 as well as state highways. It's a good reason to take a break on those long drives. But of course, any reason to geocache is a good one.
  14. I hope the mods will soon put this topic to sleep, lock it up,shut it down. It's time to move on. To much bitching and to many attacks. It's getting way to old. We all know we will never agree on this subject. Peace and Love everyone
  15. Don't forget to mark your car coords on your gpsr. This way you can find your way back. And of course, bring extra battries.
  16. Just so there’s no misunderstanding, it was just an observation. Not an attack. I knew someone would misunderstand.
  17. I don't get the family sport comment. Do you consider religion somehow anti-family? Family's have been split over religion. People argue, fight and kill over religion. This forum is a one good example. Keep religion out of geocaching and save it for your worship day. Now let the attacks begin. Families ahve been split over sports. People argue, fight and kill over sports. Soccer is a good example. Whats your point? Should all sports related swag now be considdered inopproproiate? I only worship on days that end in Y. You need to calm down. You can neither post or spell correctly because of your anger .

  19. "Geocaching is supposed to be a light, fun activity, not a platform for an agenda." That I don't find your arguments persuasive is not a comprehension problem. You will get attacked here.
  20. Very well said Narcissa. I do the same.
  21. That post make me think about the most inappropriate thing I've ever found in a cache: a bud, a lighter, and rolling paper. My 4 year old saw the bud and exclaimed, "what is a weed doing in the cache!?!?" (weed! LOL!) and threw it over his shoulder. A friend who was with us went diving for the bud as it flew through the air saying, "just because it shouldn't be in a cache, doesn't mean it should go to waste!" What's the most inappropriate thing YOU'VE ever found, and what did you do? I found a whole joint and no I did not smoke it.
  22. I know of a few cachers that sign a dry piece of paper and add that to the wet log.
  23. Relax and just go for the many lamp post hides and you will be fine.
  24. I know what you mean It makes it difficult to pee.
