Recently I received this from Groundspeak.
Hello rustynails.,
Your geocache, Raspberry Town (GC6XXDC), looks like it might need some attention. The recent logs may contain more details about what sort of maintenance needs to be performed. This could be anything from a new logbook to replacing a missing container. Here are a few options for what to do now:
Maintenance: Visit your geocache, make any needed repairs, and post an “Owner Maintenance” log so the community knows it’s available to find.
Disable: If you cannot check on your geocache within a reasonable amount of time, please disable your geocache listing. Once you perform maintenance, you can enable it and post an “Owner Maintenance” log.
Archive: If you decide it is time for your geocache to be permanently retired, please archive the listing and retrieve all physical stages.
For tips about how to perform maintenance and to learn why Geocaching HQ sends occasional geocache maintenance reminders, please see this Help Center article.
Thanks,
Geocaching HQ
It looks like HQ is using a computer program to monitor caches. The cache in question is a puzzle cache using a field puzzle and chirp. By definition puzzles are puzzling until it's solved. HQ's computer thinks this is a P&G. The computer program is obviously flawed and needs to be fixed. They should let a human decide if there's a problem instead of a computer finding problems where none exist. Anyone else being harassed by HQ's computer?
Did you post any comments in the Release Notes thread when it was posted back in September of 2015?

Then, lets get into life costs. Average monthly wage on the US: 5000$.
Where do you get your stats ? Certainly not my neighborhood. I doubt anyone in my apartment building or neighbors take home $60,000 per year.

I'm hosting an event and have been struggling with how to distribute door prize tickets. Do I give each individual a ticket or one ticket per caching name? A family of five will have a 5X chance of winning if individual tickets are used over a single person. If each caching name is given a ticket then each cacher/cacher couple have an equal chance. I do understand a few families have more than one caching name. At this point I'm expecting more than 60 people. I have maybe 20-25 prizes. How do others handle this?

11 members, 125 guests, 2 anonymous users
Who are these guests and why do they far outnumber members?

Find a geocaching organization in your area and ask for an experienced cacher to help you. I've assisted a few newbies myself and now we're friends. Most cachers would be willing to help you.
-
Why use gsak? This is just adding one or more unnecessary steps. I just keep a solved puzzle list and create a PQ from that.

I asked the same question a few weeks ago and the answer is the same. It's to bad as it sounds like many would like one. I had a New Year's Eve event last year and it helped to draw people. I'm doing another one this year. Maybe it's not to late to have souvenirs again.

Is the location of the chirp physical or virtual? Or is this another thing left to the reviewer to interpret?
-
The new icons suck. They are all circles and probably look all alike if your color blind. The different shapes of the old make them unique and stand out better. They should have polled the membership before they did it, but I guess they don't care what we think.
If they you wanted the app crap to look like the original you should have used the original icons. And the map has and does freeze up all the time.

The Garmin Chirp is an old topic but on 12/3 I tried to use my Garmin 450t to find a cache that was a chirp. When I got to posted cords I selected the Share Wirelessly option which brought up Wirelessly, send or receive data. I selected Receive and then got the Screen Listening for another unit to begin sending data with the word searching in the white strip below that. I tried it for sometime and I even held the chirp next to the gps but I never got beyond this screen. I have never done a chirp cache and I am not sure if I was suppose to do something else or not. Can someone explain the procedure to me using the same gps as I have
the chirp was working fine as the CO check it the next day with a completely different gps than the one he placed it with.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
That only works for sending/receiving from another gps not chirps. You must activate chirp searching on your unit to receive chirp information.

We won't be having New Year's souvenirs this time around.
Thanks, I'm considering a New Years eve event and the souvenir draws a few more attendees.
-
More than 24 hrs. and no serious answer to my question.
-
Will there be souvenirs again for New Years and New Years eve?
-
Same here. Using my computer can't see logs or map.
-
The window for securing Souvenir #3 is August 27-28, 2016.
What is this souvenir ?
What are the requirements ?

Ditto: old PQ's run, new ones don't. Luckily an old one will just do the job for me.
Thanks, Running an old pq and modifying it for my current needs worked.
GC should have fixed this long ago and being a weekend shouldn't matter. They should have someone on-call for these situations.
I am leaving on a road trip early this morning and tried to run a PQ last night (twice) and this morning, with no success.
Shame on you Groundspeak. This is no way to treat premium members as we are paying for pq service.
-
Seems to work now, I have received all my pocket queries.
Nope, I've not seen any new pq's.

Having read your post, I just tested the PQ generator. I can confirm that it is the Weekend, and Pocket Queries are broken. This is not all that rare a combination. Happy Geocaching.
NO HAPPY CACHING ! Mine is broken too. When are they going to fix it? I'm caching tomorrow and need it soon.

All this nano talk has got me thinking. Is there an official name for these containers ? Were they made specifically for caching ?

Once again it's a PUZZLE CACHE not a P&G. It's going to get a few dnfs and It's been checked more than a few times. The computer program failed to consider the past maintenance and the fact it's a puzzle.
Groundspeak you have gotten notification your computer program needs maintenance but failed to fix it. They should now archive it. Practice what you preach.
