  1. after a bit of research i havent found any coin clubs in the UK so this seems the best site..........http://geocoinclub.com

I have crunched some numbers and its as followes>>>>>>>

if i can get 24 other members in the Uk who are willing to join the deal i have managed to get are:

a one off payment each of £45

1 coin every month for 6 months = £7.50 per unactivated - trackable geocoin

The coins will be sent to my address and i will then individialy package them and send them via first class royal mail to your door

here are a few of the already issued coins:

How many people whould be interested??

All people who decide to participate will recieve a paypal invoice....... once paid via paypal they will be covered by the paypal buyer protection.

just a quick yes and i will PM you with more details

  2. as someone who has been asking for free coins as he has no money to buy any (see your previous posts) I don't think I'd trust you with my £45 if I were inclined to join such a 'club'. You're asking people to cough up >£1000 total in advance here. A bit much me thinks for something solely based on trust.

Most people will do the same quick background check as I did and might come to the same conclusion, might not tho.

    GL

*edit - lemme just make clear I wouldn't give anyone £45 without some form of trust, but for me that would have to be earned first. Seeing your previous posts in that case wouldn't be a great start (to me). Hope that clarifies what I am trying to convey a bit.

All people who decide to participate will recieve a paypal invoice....... once paid via paypal they will be covered by the paypal buyer protection and can claim back every penny (but they wont have too as they will recieve there coins and be very happy)

also if i was intending on ripping anyone off i whould be using a puppet username and not the same registered user name for the geocaching website and the same name i have used thruout the forum!!

Groundspeak hold my full address, as do Paypal and even one of my caches - GC1V4VD - The Alektorophobia Challenge is in my own garden so not very hard to track me down!!

  4. I'll be able to say yes or no on my interest after the points of concern by drneal and Eartha are addressed.

Any chance to get it with the butt blue?

was unaware of the wording issue and this will be sorted and read

    "Trackable at www.Geocaching.com"

The coin will have its own icon : d8f994d8-cbb1-4c30-a5e2-67230af17073.jpg

i had thought of a set with different colour bums, red, blue, green, yellow etc..

the cost will depend on numbers.......... the more coins made the lower the cost but will be aproximatly $15 (including P&P worldwide)

  5. I have just started to collect coins and have been looking at joining a club.

i recently looked at the site Geocoin club and see that you get better saving if you join as a group rather than individialy.

are there many in the UK that do this offer??

after the extra shipping im looking at a big lump sum to find, are there people in the UK that already pay for the club and could extend the membership to me if i payed them for the coin every month??

Im in Kent UK and on November 8th 2007 we was issued a Tidal surge warning that the sea will rise by 2 meters threatning our flood defences and the possability of flooding 100,000 homes.

the following were taken during and after the surge:

Here we can see the fishing deck on Deal Pier

The waves pounding the sea wall defences

The after effects to clean up....... 100 tones of stones along the prominard, road and also houses along the coastal streach of deal

    DSCF9079.jpg

  8. i have a signature chip that has my avatar logo on it>

i drop one into every cache like the buisness cards others leave behind, in all my photo's at earth caches or micros that they wont fit into i just snap the chip in the photo..... they get the photo as proof and it has a element that is unique to my username.

  11. I work within the Port of Dover 5 days a week and also live very close.

whould anyone benifit if i was to create a TB hotel near the port?

this potentialy will help TB across the pond to Europe and anyone doing a flying visit could leave them there to circulate the UK, Ireland, Scotland.

If i was to set up a TB hotel, is there any special requirements i will need to forfill??

  12. I am having 100 of these coin's produced soley for a cache drops when i log my visit which will remain there

    to be a swap item.

Can i get a tracking number and have that engraved on one of them?

    {{if not i will get a dog tag and have the coin attached to it?}}

    edit**

the coins have already started to be produced......... can i get a single tracking number to be engraved onto one of the coins to turn it frow a non-trackable custom swap coin to a trackable one

  13. The bigger problem I see is that you're using an online map to obtain coordinates for a multi-cache. According to the Listing Guidelines...

    QUOTE

You as the owner of the cache must visit the site and obtain the coordinates with a GPS. GPS usage is an essential element of geocaching. Therefore, although it is possible to find a cache without a GPS, the option of using accurate GPS coordinates as an integral part of the cache hunt must be demonstrated for all physical cache submissions.

If you're using the map to get the coordinates, you're not using the GPS to get the coordinates

i was aware of this but as i only have a tomtom that is not very acurate,

i have pysically been to every cache site that i am going to use and was planning on using the converted coordinates to track back to the site(s) when placing the cache. and to also do my currant lat long from the tomtom to see how close it is to the coordinates.

  14. i have been resurching for a new multi-cache from a web based map but can only get it in decimal lat long ie. 51.************* and 1.*************

to create the cache on the geocaching site it askes for the WGS84 Datum: ie N/S HDDD MM.MM and W/E HDDD MM.MM

does anyone know a conversion tool that will allow me to changed them or will i have to go back to finding a web based map to recalculate all the lat longs
