  1. Thats just part of the process. To put those POI`s on the card you would need to use GSAK( $25 or a nag screen), this macro (free), and Garmins POI Loader (free). And if it goes over 80 characters it will create another POI. Or use EASYGPS (free) and change it to send the hint in the comment section, which as posted before, has a 30 character limit.
  2. what browser are you using? there are problems with the plug-ins and certain browsers. There is always the free Cache Register. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=265679&st=0&p=4567955&hl=cache%20register&fromsearch=1entry4567955
  3. First off, to get any more info you will have to get the files as .gpx files and not .loc files. Actually you can do it using EasyGPS but are limited to 30 characters in the note field. Go to edit/preferences/geocaching and in the second field change it to the decrypted hint selection. You loose the cache name but can change the first field but are limited to 15 characters. if either of those goes over the limits (30 & 15) it will get cut off. With GSAK and Garmins POI loader (free)and the macro you are limited to 80 characters and if you go over that it will create another POI. Take a look at the link Bear and Ragged posted and you can see just what things will look like. I also did as them and just sent the hints and loaded the caches the regular way so if you need the hint its there. You can also use the Special Tags way & GSAK as mentioned but the 30 character limit comes into play. There are a lot of people that have done or doing it so there is always help available on the boards.
  4. Thats 4.2.1 version of the GC app on the iphone. its under menu/settings and in the search options section there is a "My Finds" with choices of include or exclude (which on mine is taking out my hides also).
  5. It doesnt actually have a filter for your own hides though but it does filter ones youve found, what im saying is that there needs to be a filter for caches that you have hidden so they dont clog up the search results page when u want to find some caches around u that arent your own Yes it does filter out your hides. I have switched the my finds filter off/on 3 times now and done a search on each flip ( 6 total searches now) and every time my hides disappear along with my finds. and yes, I have never logged one of my own caches. I am using version 4.2.1.
  6. The filter for hiding your finds also includes your hides on the GC iphone app.
  7. 1 week late but how about a secret link to the upcoming changes on GC site? Oh drats, already gave you that.
  8. 2:15 of the video he starts talking about GSAK. 2:30 the macro. my last link I believe is his.
  9. take a look at this gsak macro to see what you can do with it and garmins POI Loader. Or this page
  10. they are stored on the internal memory of the gps, not the sd card. The sd card is for maps and POI`s.
  11. Worldcaching.com has a fake rock. shop4swag.com has fake rock. but its not very big. cacheboxstore.com has fake rock.
  12. your not left out. Talking about changes coming up next week.
  13. So where was the wife? at a hotel waiting, friends house, or was she assisting by doing the driving? If the last, it would not be a solo adventure. Either way, like many have mentions, being able to do the entire 1021 mind numbing caches in 24 hours is a feat in itself.
  14. for post on the forums there is time limit after which you cannot edit the post. sorry, dont know what the time frame is.
  15. no, its a dutch treat, sort a like a pancake.
  16. the lanyard is suppose to be attached through the slot/loop on the left side just up and left of the mini usb connection.
  17. go to your Build Pocket Query page ( which is on the right side or your profile page ) and there is a tab towards the top for it.
  18. So where does GC draw the line? A person could twist there way to make a lot of word meanings “vulgar” to someone/themselves, if not in this society then others. Maybe all cache names should just be random letters and numbers. 7734, GC1V08 cache would that make everyone happy? Someone would still find a reason to P & M.
  19. There are better maps for streets than topo. You could go the garmin route and use CN and then you could auto route with the gps. There are free maps here that would give you the streets, but no auto routing, plus the topo maps are pretty good also. Then you could do many things using GSAK to manipulate the data sent to the unit.
  20. On the navigate page, between the "menu" and "map type" hit the flag and enter the coords to the next stage. Then hit "done" and it should be set to navigate to that stage.
  21. Here is a page to see what you can do with GSAK and this macro and Garmins free POI Loader. you are limited to 80 characters for POI`s so if it goes over that it will create another POI. I check the box to load the hint only and also load the caches the regular way and if I need the hint its there. there is also this page.

  23. It will come with directions to a game to play oh wait they already introduced us to that one somehow. Umm, sky coords to point our telescopes to so we can show the non-believers they are out there.
