  1. did you switch the .gpx download version from 1.0 to 1.0.1 with out updating mapsource? You can check in your profile settings
  2. That is interesting to see that one there. It is Alberta's original stash. Alvin`s Phone Line, which is still active also, was the first in MN. Remember driving 80+ miles in a snowstorm in Nov. 2001 but had to turn back so didnt get to look.
  3. I`ve used "the page" about 8 times today with no problems. ???? my data base is goofed up and been working on it.
  4. First they would have to become a premium member to do pocket queries.
  5. Its listed as being on Coincodes.com though. If I remember correctly it was sold by Castle Coins and Pins and when Castleman closed up shop their codes were moved to Oak Coins (Geoswag). So try the Oakcoins activation page and see if you have any luck there. thanks, but again, no luck I just re-did my Breath of life- CF at coincodes and it gave me my code, which I already had by the way.
  6. Fliegenpilz Mushrooms code was on the bag it came in. Try "the page". You dont have the correct name of the "happy face" coin. Got a picture or try going to the trackable page and do a search for the code on the coin to get the proper name for it.
  7. Its listed as being on Coincodes.com though.
  8. try this page You have to set it up for each kind of cache. And if you want sent to your phone also/instead, create another one and in the "send to" box put in your phone number. exapmle: ##########@mms.att.net Here is a list
  9. Thx but exactly this is the problem. I have tried it like 10 times but it still shows me the codes iso the cach-names..... I think, Id better put the question in the EasyGPS forums though .... Thx anyway... happy caching!! If its like my 60 you also have to change the "geocache" symbol to something else like the blue flag. The HCx has a cache name 14 character limit but I think EasyGPS and ExpertGPS limits it to 10, and the comment section 30 character limit. Your other choice is to use GSAK to change things.
  10. did a search and came up with 35mm film container possible, http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=c0828e41-13da-4407-9d30-bbe6fe9ef81d http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=51a1b4d7-4362-4037-b079-7e745575845d
  11. In EasyGPS go to Edit/preferences. Click on the "My GPS Receivers" tab if not there. Click on the Geocaching button, on the waypoint box switch it to Geocache name. For the decrypted hints on the Comment box switch it to "decrypt hints" just remember if it goes over 24 characters it will get cut off. Never used Open Street Maps so cant help you on that one.
  12. Is there a "Show GA"? The unit will only show one map kind at a time and there is a hierarchy.
  13. And why do you think they are not loading? Are you getting a message saying they are not installing? On the gps are you going into Setup/map/ and highlight the "i" towards the top and then hit menu and scroll down to the map you installed and hit enter if it says "show xxx map", xxx being whatever map you installed.
  14. There should be a "delete all" option on the gps. Sorry I dont have my girlfriends vista so dont know for sure but there should be an option when you are on waypoint page. Try to find a menu option on that page. Edit to add that that should be on the waypoint list page, not individual ones.
  15. From Garmins site: Q. Does the Communicator work with all Garmin devices? A. No, the Communicator works best with devices that connect to a computer via USB cable. While some devices that connect to a computer via serial cable or serial-USB adapter will work with the Communicator, they are not officially supported and we cannot guarantee compatibility or provide customer support.
  16. If the PQ is downloaded the cache info is already saved except the maps which would have to be saved individually per cache before leaving Wi-Fi area. The GPS would see them as distinct watpoints so you get duplicates, delete all before sending.
  17. Not familiar with the free iTouch app but Groundspeak $9.99 app will work and you can download your PQ while you have Wi-Fi and it will be there for you except the maps, unless you go and save every caches map before you head out. While you dont have a gps in the iTouch the info will be there.
  18. You can add the hint into the comment field but if it goes over 24 characters it will get cut off. The easiest way is to do this is using EasyGPS (free) and changing the set-up on it under edit/preferences/geocaching and change the comment box to "geocache hint decrypted". You could also use GSAK (free with nag screen or $25) and a Special Tag %hint in the comment box but again you run into the 24 character limit. Now if you had the vista HCX model you could add the hints as POI`s and the limit would be 80 characters.
  19. You could try a reset by following instructions off this page. page
  20. Put %name in the waypoint box on the gps/send waypoint page. here is a list of Special tags to use with GSAK Problem is there is a 14 character limit on waypoint name section so if cache name goes over that its going to get cut off. There is %ShortName tag. But your better off putting either in the waypoint comment section where there is a 30 character limit. Sorry about the edits, it was a long day at work.
