As I understand it, you should not keep a geocoin you find in a cache unless it has not been activated at all (and has been placed as swag) or the coin page specifically says you can keep it. If in doubt, move it on. The coin owner has an option to check or uncheck a 'make this collectible' box when setting up their coins page. There is a lot of discussion as to what this actually means but depending on which option they selected, the 'move to collection' option will / will not be available. I hope this clears things up a little As I said though, if in doubt, move it on. Most coins in circulation are for travelling, not keeping.

A cacher found a bug I placed in a cache and has noted the secret code in their log. I sent a friendly message (3 weeks ago) asking them to change it and explaining why but I have had no response and the log has not been changed. I appreciate that they may just be very busy but the longer it stays there, the more chance someone will record it and start logging erroneous logs. Is there any other way I can get the log amended? Well your economy service is pretty good because it arrived on Monday!! I was out so went to pick up the parcel this morning, wondering what on earth it could be. What a wonderful surprise it was. You have been sooo generous. I am very pleased to say that I am now the proud owner of 3 Stacking Doll coins AND a Canterbury Earthquake coin & they are all stunning. They will certainly be staying in my collection for a while at least. Your Old Timer coin is also stunning. Will you have a computer / laptop with you? If so you could run pocket queries before you go and download them into third party software (GSAK is the only one I know of but I'm sure there'll be more) which would then be available to view offline at your convenience.

Do you have your PQ set to ignore archived caches? If so you've probably imported the cache when it was active then as it was archived it has been omitted from your PQ so importing the new PQ to GSAK does not overwrite the archived cache with the new (has been archived) information. Does that make sense? If that is the case you need to either a) Delete all caches from GSAK before you import the new PQ or b)include archived logs in your PQ I had a very similar problem with found caches, wondering why GSAK wasn't showing them when I'd set my PQ to ignore found caches, doh

My coins arrived today and I'd just like to say that they are absolutely beautiful Thank you CW88 ETA - Can I just add that this coin is massive! I only have one other coin, which is about 1.25" diameter. I just assumed they'd all be about the same. This one (well actually these 3 as I bought the set) are 2" and waaaay nicer. Thanks again

I have a Dakota 20 which I've been using without problem for the past month. It does what I want it to do without any problems. I can't comment on the other models I'm afraid.

I also enjoy spinners and 'naked' coins (i.e. more metal, less enamel) I enjoy geocaching (naturally) & the walking that goes with it. I like crafting and have turned my hand to quite a few different varieties - quilting, scrapbooking, crochet, cross stitch. I have a thing about stationary & have a growing piled of unused notebooks, pens & bottled fountain pen ink. I have 2 young boys which invariably means sharing... everything Just one question. Will I be sending to the person who is sending to me? Not that it matters, just wanting a better understanding of how it works. Thank you

I want one each for my boys as their personal coins but I want it to mean something to them so was planning on waiting and buying them whilst we are at the Mega next month. Are they going to be on sale there? What will the quantities be like? I don't want to wait 'til the Mega then find out they're sold out before we get chance to pry open the wallet

Bonjour J'ai l'Dakota 20 et je trouve qu'il est très facile à utiliser pour le géocaching. Si vous mettez à niveau à l'adhésion prime que vous pouvez télécharger les requêtes de poche directement à votre Dakota et il montrera les coordonnées de la cache, la description, depuis quelques journaux et le soupçon. Je ne sais pas si vous obtenez tout ce que le téléchargement une cache à la fois avec l'adhésion gratuite. La carte SD est titulaire des cartes. Quand j'ai essayé d'ajouter le fichier de requête de poche pour lui, le Dakota ne l'ai lu et j'ai dû le déplacer à la mémoire Dakota lui-même. J'ai peut-être pas été bien faire les choses bien. Toutes mes excuses si le français est mauvais, je la rédaction du présent en anglais et en ayant Google de le traduire.

I don't know about buying blank tags but you can create your own traveller and add the bug number to it (maybe get a pet tag etched with the bug number). Just make sure to make it clear it's a traveller and not swag. HTH

I have a great game that the boys & I play called Rory's Story Cubes. Basically it is 9 dice with 54 unique pictures on them. The idea is that you roll the dice then use the pictures as prompts to help you make up a story. (There is also an app for that) For my cointest I would post a photo of a roll of the dice and ask people to come up with stories. The winner would be the best story as chosen by the boys and I eg story cubes image ETA - Trying to put photo in post, it doen't want to play
