  1. Could it be the name of the spring?...
  2. Funny enough, I did when I got my old TomTom, but never thought about my Oregon. Mmm - guess what I'm doing right after I hit that "Add Reply" button... Thanks for the reminder!
  3. Would they not have been better off spending their time fixing, and upgrading the software on the existing models?... Garmin have (by my reckoning) 7 beta versions of their software for the Oregon. SEVEN! and there are still a lot of issues that they need to resolve. The sooner the better!
  4. Follow the road forward, past the parade and on until you come to Sampsonia Way / Arch St, That's one big bird Cool, I love it, it just makes no sense! but did anyone spot this - just before the big bird, what was the guy doing under the brown bollard disguise, with the word HAM on it?... Hope it's not that swine flu mutating again...
  5. How cool would that be!!! Lets hope they do it eh!
  6. Looks like a high tech version of hide and seek. BTW found it easier to read in english. Like the idea, but just imagine running around and getting stopped by the police. It's hard enough to explain geocaching, try explaining your playing hide and seek! Now if the "X" was carrying a travelling cache...
  7. What are you after?
  8. Robobrooke Ensure you have a 3D fix, and if you leave it still ontop of the cache for a few minutes, press MARK > Avg and Save. Also do this on different days and times and average them to be as accurate as possible. Why not download the manual here and look at page 9. Have fun! David
  9. I have never seen a basic handheld GPSr unit that you couldn't input co-ordinates manually - that is one of the basic functions. I know bluetooth GPSr versions can't input manually but they need connecting to something like a PDA which can. Some phones have inbuilt GPSr, but the software is disabled to prevent inputting of co-ordinates. Post the GPSr name here, and people will tell you if it's ok for caching. Good luck!
  10. What Motorcycle_Mama said! Don't need to use the Garmin Communicator software. (but do use the webupdater to update the software from time to time)
  11. Anybody used these puppies: Hybrio
  12. It's a simple concept right, easy to follow, right... Some people a stoopid - fact! However: The inventory shows the cache has a TB, you go there it's not in the cache. This could be for various reasons. someone has beaten you to the cache, took it to move it on, and hasn't been back home to log the TB, or log the cache find. (some people log the find via their mobile phone in the field, but most don't). Some people cache whilst on holiday and don't log their finds for weeks! someone has moved it on, but forgot to log it. It can be discovered elsewhere and on it goes... someone picked it up, and lost it, and too embarassed to log it It has been muggled - i.e. someone who does not know about geocaching has stolen it. It happens. It might have been stolen by a geocacher - unlikely unless someone has a grudge against the owner (it happens but not very often).
  13. For good translation try http://translate.google.co.uk/?hl=en&tab=wT. Remember it's in Catalan NOT Spanish. Seping has a website http://www.seping.es The pdf of the game in English can be found here http://www.seping.es/infoidiomas.html I agree banks like this should be banned!
  14. No need to worry about Muggles, they would leave you alone if you were wearing one of those OR they would run screaming from a bloke wearing one of those...
  15. It still works dosen't it?... I still use my Garmin 12XL and it works just fine! Mind you with A4 kites, I am tempted to go paperless and upgrade to something like a Garmin Oregan 300 or similar. Might break the piggybank though
