  1. On an event page the 'Add to Calendar->Google' link creates an invalid location. It sets the location attribute to latitude longitude and then appends a coord.info uri. The latter part produces an invalid location on google calendar. Manually removing the coord.info URI allows it to work. Example: https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCA8XD4_richmond-ky-parks-rec-1st-annual-geo-event Invalid link: http://www.google.com/calendar/event?action=TEMPLATE&text=Richmond KY Parks %26 Rec 1st Annual Geo Event&dates=20231021T123000Z/20231021T140000Z&details=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.geocaching.com%2Fgeocache%2FGCA8XD4&location=37.739867%2C -84.25995 (http%3A%2F%2Fcoord.info%2FGCA8XD4)&sprop=website: Manually fixed link: http://www.google.com/calendar/event?action=TEMPLATE&text=Richmond KY Parks %26 Rec 1st Annual Geo Event&dates=20231021T123000Z/20231021T140000Z&details=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.geocaching.com%2Fgeocache%2FGCA8XD4&location=37.739867%2C -84.25995&sprop=website:
  2. This suggestion unlocks the door for any malware links sent via gmail. This is like leaving your house unlocked because one of your kids refuses to take a key. It is trivial for Groundspeak to change the PQ notification email embedded download link from http to https. I modified a PQ notification email and it works fine. Groundspeak PLEASE fix this.
  3. That was simple and should have been obvious to me. However, real labs cannot be removed in same way so I did not try. Thanks barefootjeff!
  4. While developing my second lab I iterated with test versions a number of times. Each time I created the test, scanned it into the app, tested it and then deleted the test on the builder. However, now I have a dozen test instances in the app on my phone. How can these be deleted? I have experience using adb (Android Debug Bridge) and can remove files if instructed where they reside. However, I was hoping there was a way to do it inside the app. That would be more beneficial to the non-technical audience.
  5. Ok, thanks kunarion. I missed that spot. I was confused since that edit view is different from the initial submission wizard which has nothing about images. I sure wish it was simpler to submit a cache.
  6. Recently Upload Images stopped showing up in the Admin Tools section for an unpublished cache. This is how I used to add images while writing up a new cache. Upload Images does show up for my published caches. I attached images that show the difference. It would be great if it were as easy to add images to a cache as it is to attach them here in the forum. As a workaround I tried adding a picture to one of my trackables but the quality was greatly reduced. I searched the forums but did not find a similar issue.
  7. I totally agree with you tumbleweed42. Searching by leading text in the cache name hearkens back to the pre-web days. How about being able to do a Google-like search for the text in a cache description? Free search index tools such as http://lucene.apache.org/core/ are available. A good search will add some load to the servers but isn't that what we are paying for with premium memberships? It makes good business sense to improve the online tools to capture more web clicks. Forcing cachers to download pocket queries into GSAK just to perform adequate searches leaves the door wide open to competitors.
  8. When is Groundspeak going to update the horribly limited cache search functionality? Searching by leading text in the cache name hearkens back to the pre-web days. Free search index tools such as http://lucene.apache.org/core/ are available. A good search will add some load to the servers but isn't that what we are paying for with premium memberships? It makes good business sense to improve the online tools to capture more web clicks. Forcing cachers to download pocket queries into GSUK just to perform adequate searches leaves the door wide open to competitors. Opencaching.com has no traction, but if Google jumped into the game Groudspeak would be out of business in a week. I don't want to see that come to pass. Please Groundspeak!
  9. I'm a bit confused by jholly's remark. I think he meant to answer yes?
  10. Any news on this bug? It obviously is not user error -- the boating attribute cannot be set for events except by jumping through the non-obvious hoop. Come on Groundspeak, this should be trivial to fix. Just open source that part of your code and I'll fix it.
  11. I have Firefox configured to use an https connection if available. In the last few days, the map shows up blank on https://www.geocaching.com/map. Unsecure URIs work fine (i.e. http://www.geocaching.com/map). This behavior observed on both Firefox 20.0 on Linux and Chrome 25.0.1364.160 on Linux. If the server advertises https (which it does) then all aspects of the site should work with it.
