  1. I don't know what the name of your cache is, but it can't contain reference to a business.
  2. I created a PQ with 998 caches and loaded it into my wifes 550T and my 400T, Then we went caching. We usually do the find closest cache and The 550T would not find some the 400T did. and visa versa. I was under the 2,000 caches on my 400T and the 550T was under 5,000. Any suggestions on what is going on.
  3. The F.R.O.G.S are doing a 10-10-10 in Napa, CA. GC2f4mh. Come on up. Lots of fun and swag.
  4. Went to GSWVIII and on our way we grabbed gc12-16-17-79 and 92. Great week end. APE cache, headquarters and the orginial plaque.
  5. I have had something odd happen to me. I was at the A.P.E. cache along with about 400 others during the A.P.E. event this year at GCWsVIII, At the top of the climb there was a crowd around a lady holding a 4x4 cache and people were taking down the GC #. She explained that is was a traveling cache and those who logged it would get credit for finding a cache in England. When I did my profile with GSAK I now have distance between caches in one day of 9,000 miles. My previous long distance was under 3,000, California to Florida. I know how to fix it in GSAK but I am wondering should I. What are your thoughts?
  6. Thanks to all who commented. Here is the cache I wanted to place: find 1 virtual in 10 different counties in California that when you use the first letter of each county it would spell out "California". I still think the reasonable part is questionable. But the reviewer has said I have to e-mail goundspeak and I am unwilling to do this. Thanks again for your help.
  7. I started to place caches well before I had 100 finds, now over 1100. I made a few mistakes and was corrected by the reviewer and fellow cachers. No one was hurt, but some were inconvenienced , I think anyone could and should place caches. That is why we do this silly sport. It's to get out there and find/place something. Have fun with it!!!
  8. guess I'll just give up. the challenge would be too hard for me.
  9. I did did read the requirements and I thought I had answered them. I ran a PQ for California virtuals and then did a county micro and then a sort and all the counties that are in the challenge are up and running and have recently been found. I think this is proof of a doable challenge, but the reviewer does not agree. short of going to Groundspeak any other suggestions. I have made up my mind to put the final coords in the listing but proof of doablity is a tough one.
  10. I am trying to place a challenge cache in California and was told by my reviewer that I have to prove that I did the cache or that someone else has done it. The cache will take cachers all over California to certain types of caches. In addition he/she says that I have to put the coords for the final in the cache listing. This is a challenge cache just like the Delorme Challengers and they have the cachers e-mail them the answers so that they can verify the correctness of the finds. Am I missing something?
  11. I got one too. sent my email to Groundspeak now am going to ignore this forum so that it gives him/her nothing to read.
  12. did not mean that,i meant, just meeting people at ten different caches not 10 at one site You know sometimes u meat people while caching, i think there is a challenge for that somewhere
  13. I once found a paper coffee cup with it's plastic lid. I replaced it with a watertight 2x2. owner was thank full.
  14. I have been told that there is a challenge about meeting people at a hide. If you log ten people you have met at a cache you can claim the challenge. Anyone hear of this
  15. I could not find any reference to collecting methods anywhere here. Any ideas on which binders and pages to use. Or maybe other ideas for storing the coins. Thanks
  16. I think a reviewer needs to activate a cache that has been archived. And they need some info as to why they should. Sorry about the double post, gc.com was slow and i hit reply again

  18. I am pretty sure that if you look at your friends finds on his/her page the common finds will have a check mare to show you have found these same ones.
  19. I always have a camera around my neck. If I see muggles I point the camera in their direction and they quickly stop looking at me.
  20. Wow you guys/girls are great. It was a problem with firefox. It is fixed and I can remove those nasty coin tracking numbers. thanks all
  21. Simple answer, Quit going into the woods. Stop looking for caches and maybe take up needle point instead.
  22. If the cache is too close to another what good would having another reviewer look at it. It is too close to another. Unless you stated that there was a river or some other major obstruction between the two caches I think the reviewer is right.
  23. I put newly purchased coins in my collection and some one sent me a I discovered it email. I have not shown these coins to anyone so the only way for them to get tracking number was from the coin web page. I thought the number was too small to read but after clicking on the picture of the coin I could read the number. So I tried to make a change and remove the number from the picture. While saving the picture I saw a menu choice "to exclude images from img.geocaching.com". Now all of my pictures that I have loaded on all of my coin pages are gone. I even tried to upload new ones but they too can not be seen. HELP!!! After I sent this post I noticed even my Avatar is not showing now, in the forums. I really screwed the pouch on this one.
  24. I have often wondered if there were caches in similar locations that possibly might have been placed without the hider having obtained proper permission. There seems to be one. I find this to be very disturbing. Why is this disturbing? Think about all the LPCs in shopping centers and any parking lot. Does everyone that hides LPC get permission? I doubt it. But they are still fun to find.
