  1. Okay!!!!! The coins are in!!! I am working on packing, labeling, and sorting through the coins. Silly me. I figured, "they'll be numbered that'll be easy". Would have been easy if they were stacked numerically in the boxes. My son is earning "5 whole dollars" to sort them this week . Should be in the mail soon. There are only about 150 left. Anybody wanting any, come on!
  2. Tiki4, I'm not sure who the question was posted for....but the GOWT coins from KVcoins were totaled out at $1425.00 (2.85 each including everything).
  3. When I started looking for pricing for our coins, I checked out Pressedmetal, songs coins, KV coins, and a couple others that leave me. Pressedmetal was the least expensive until I started adding color. KVcoins won out after that. So far, very pleased with the sample coin. Look forward to the first 500 to come in!!! Good luck with your coin. BTW, I'd like more information on pressing out my own coins? Seems cool yet somewhat out of my price range.
  4. What a coin. I hope it turns out great. Looking for trades? If anyone has CA, WA, etc. let me know. The GOWT (Geocachers of West Tennessee) coin will be arriving this week. They should be ready to ship out 1st of January. Would love to trade items. This Colorado coin seems to be coming around! We had a GREAT deal of trouble and finally wound up with a big NO on GC.com tracking. BUT, the folks at travelertags.com jumped in and helped out a lot. Marky, I wish I had heard of you before I spent 3 months trying to come up with tracking. At some point, I'd love to track our own coins. Perhaps with the next batch or so.
  5. I'll be ready to start trading in about a week. The GOWT (Geocachers Of West Tennessee) coin will be ready to ship soon. Would love to trade. Anyone email if interested. GOWT Coins
  6. Sorry to bust in on this thread. We are finally about to get the GOWT (Geocachers of West Tennessee) coins in this week. Thanks for everyone who has ordered. If there are any of you out there who have placed an order (or want to place an order). I would love to do some trading!!!! Send me an email and if you have ordered, I will slip in an extra coin if you have a coin to trade. Moun10Bike....thanks again. Awesome coin!!! Like I said, they don't make it often all the way to Tennessee. GOWT coins BTW-Ray, the coin looks great. We used KV coins as well. Rick and Ken were great to work with-even with all my annoying emails and calls. Would highly recommend.
  7. CR, It's taken me forever to post but thanks for the shipment. I cannot believe how tiny the bison tubes are! I'm glad I won't be looking for it! The battery whatchamacallit is cool. The D ring is very high quality. Stitching that would have made me bonkers! hooks perfectly on the backpack. Thanks again. I'm working on trying to get a rubber stamp.
  8. Okay, I'm a little excited. I spoke with Ken at KV coins today. The coins are being boxed and shipping tomorrow. With the holiday, I imagine they will get to Jackson, TN. the week of New Years. I will hopefully begin shipping them out Around 1/1- 1/3. Thanks for the orders. Thanks for your patience. Don't forget, GOWT coins make wonderful gifts. Buy more coins!!!!
  9. The coins are being minted. They are to be here end of December/ first of January and then shipping will begin! Thanks again for all the orders. Anybody out there wanting 150 more or so, we can handle it.
  10. Hey, I was thinking............. gears are turning. Do we need a "for real" website? Geocities does free hosting. I have geocities and then I've got a bogus link to get there. www.primo.isclever.com Just a thought.
  11. It varies based on how many coins you are ordering. It looks like the folks that have ordered coins before are saying $10 should cover 3 coins and shipping. Like I've said many times, I have no idea. I'm just hoping it will be a wash. Some will short me a little, others will give a little extra. I just want to get this coin out there. Thanks, mike
  12. You can thumb back through this thread for more info but you can send payment via PayPal.com and send it to mprimeaux@jpc-pa.com. The cost is 2.85 per coin. Please add some extra for shipping. Thanks, Mike
  13. Okay, GOWT (Geocachers Of West Tennessee) just got our sample coin in today. Our first 500 are on order. Since I don't have a collection, I'll show off our coin.
  14. Well, I got the sample coin in the mail today. I am pretty happy with the look of it. They are going to begin minting the 500. Keep the orders coming. So far, about 220 are sold. Let's get about 250 or so more ordered and I'll be very happy. Thanks to everyone placing their orders and such. If I can ever figure out the way to put a picture up here, I'll get it! I can't believe I actually did that. I've been trying to figure that out for months!!!
  15. Okay. I have no coin collection. But, by golly, I'm ready to start now. If anyone wants to trade any nice looking coins, I should have our GOWT (Geocachers of West Tennessee) coin around the first of the year. Here's a look-see GOWT Geocoin M10B, Could you please get some of your coins to anywhere close to west tennesee?????
  16. I like the translation into the same word lol! It means "the boss" or "the chief" My spelling is probably not correct. This is from Portuguese but they don't pronounce letters like americans or spanish speaking folks. I'm just hooked on phonics!!!
  17. Mustard Devil, I've never met you but I can't put into words how much my family and I appreciate and respect you!!!! Where ever you are, what ever you are doing, know that there are people here that support you and are lifting you up!!! MAN! I am proud to be an American. and lucky to be an American!
  18. I don't have a Kentucky coin. I'll keep looking. I WILL have a GOWT (Geocachers Of West Tennesee) coin in a few weeks that I would love to trade for your extras. Let me know. GOWT coin View THE coin
  19. I'm telling ya, this is sounding better all the time. Put me in as a founding member. I like the general rules SpenserSB has described. We could get input from the "members at large" and periodically have an "organized" CITO event or something. Perhaps being able to utilize the new geocaching video that will be available at the end of the month. I think Tuck Sackett mentioned educational opportunities. The video would be great as well a maybe a slideshow presentation/powerpoint. Until I saw a blurp on CNN Headline news back in April, I had never heard of geocaching. Now I'm hooked. I agree with the Pres, VP, sec, and Treasurer idea. That only adds to the organizational status that GC has not "recognized" yet. I would also agree to $5 or so a year membership dues. Could I just go ahead and pay up for a decade or something because I will forget to pay The dues will help offset the website charges and perhaps a few "give aways" at any given meeting. Gosh, can we get membership cards and a secret decoder ring? . Just joking there, or was I . Steve, thanks again for getting this rolling. Your new title is "El Heffe". Later!
  20. Now, let's really think about this. The majority of residents (legal or not) in Texas currently speak Spanish. Why don't we just move Texas to the "spanish speaking" forum. Or, since most Texans want to consider their state superior to everyone else, put them in the "other nations" forum where the countries not listed anywhere else are listed. India, Japan, Poland. I can see where Texas would fit in great there. BTW: Go buy a West Tennessee Geocoin!!!! Get me a GOWT coin!!!!
  21. That's me voting for SpencerSB. Well, I guess being the "Inventor" of the GOWT name, I will put my 2 cents worth in. I am in favor of being formally organized. I agree with many of the quotes. I don't have that much extra money to offer (especially if I don't sell all these coins!!!) but I think it is worth. I like the website idea. Neat to know that GOWT.org is not taken yet. I agree with the setting up of guidelines about trade items and the general way you leave a cache. It always warms my heart to think there is a travelbug waiting for me and when I get there, someone has traded it for a copy of a dollar bill!!! Not picking on anyone but we do need to put more thought into our trades to keep the quality of our caches up and up. I understand that with more folks being in Shelby county that the "hub" would be near there. Would love for it to be closer to home but I can deal with that . Thanks for bringing this up SpencerSB. P.S. Everyone keep ordering GOWT geocoins. Get me some GOWT Coins!!!!
  22. Nope. There are still a little over 200 coins left to be reserved. Thanks! Mike
  23. I'm getting everyone's paypal notifications. I'll post here when the coins are all gone. So far, there are 320 left (or so). I have looked at other geocoin site. These folks are ripping people off!!! The Canada Geocoin is almost 6 bucks! If a little no one like me can get a coin made for 2.85, these guys are making a huge profit margin (almost 50% from every coin). I may be niave and not realize they have mucho, mucho overhead but I think they're sticking it to folks. Just a layman's observation. When sending payment by PayPal, please include enough for shipping. If not, I will likely deduct from the amount of coins. Thanks again, Mike
  24. Okay, unless something changes that is unforeseen (big word and probably misspelled). The coins should be ready first of January or so. Here's the breakdown of the price ($2.85 per coin). 2.15 per coin .40 for tracking number .30- this is $150 die fee divided by the 500 coins _____ 2.85 per coin. This does not include shipping. Everyone help me out here. Not sure how much they will weigh and I haven't done much shipping. I will be happy to charge the actual shipping/handling but I haven't figured out how to do that yet. I have a paypal account- if I can figure out how to get money out of it. payment should go to mprimeaux@jpc-pa.com at paypal. I am taking the first 20 coins. So the next 480 are up to grabs. As you can see, there is NO markup on the coins. If you would like, any donation to www.travelertags.com would be nice as well as they are providing the tracking. Thanks, Primofam.
  25. Okay, so I'm not crazy. I keep trying to upload it from my hard drive. Sure, linking to a web site would be easier. I want to upload it from my picture files. My head hurts. Paid the $150 bucks this week. they are working on the sample coin and then we will begin production.
