  1. Not been caching either.........but we have been hunting Langley Knights (see another thread!).........and found one as well! Hopefully our FTF will be confirmed and maybe win some money
  2. Any cachers living in any of these 2 places? I know, Folkestone is spelled wrong in the topic title......D'oh!
  3. Excellent! Strangely enough, our good friends daughter has her wedding booked at Langley Castle next year and Helen (my wife) had told me about this competition but I had already known via these forums. Stupidly last night she managed to make me part of HER team when we were trying to make her part of MY team.......guess who's gonna get, providing we're 1st, heh-heh, most the dosh?
  4. Well done - I assume you were FTF. Was that one in Carlisle? Yeah, Bitts Park (near the Castle) in Carlisle. Got sick of looking on GE for the cyber knights! The lads said they were inundated yesterday with peeps wanting pictures, and got sick of the kids pestering them! We were the only ones that had actually went to "find" them, and appreciated the fact we had took the time to check. His parting shot was that after a 'phone call to Langley Castle they might be able to go home (Hexham) early and still get paid So.......as for the true FTF......here's hoping
  5. Found number 3 this morning! Had a good crack with the two lads dressed up, and the "knight" had done a bit of caching in the past......result!
  6. And what do YOU know about caching, eh? You've only found one or two!
  7. A serious episode....in fact a VERY serious episode. But......on a lighter note.......maybe it was this cacher that thought THEY were gonna get a FTF only to see you there first
  8. Mine is 21987. I think that the oldest UK active cacher is harold1066 who's ID is 323. When I say oldest, I don't mean oldest, I mean.......you know what I mean....the longest serving! Unless you know different??!!
  9. Posting a secret message would require a bit of effort I have a cache like that! Blatant cache advertising GC25M55!!!!
  10. Fantastic! 20,000 finds.......are you trying to catch Cccooperagency up, heh-heh!! I can remember a few years ago when Seasider hit the 1000 mark first. At the time, it was a fantastic achievement. Well done, Gaz
  11. Well done that man. I'm the same with puzzle caches - always look past the obvious Still prefer the other way, it showed disabled caches....they were greyed out. But hey, at least we see found caches!
  12. Also, make sure you put the "correct" co-ords in the "hidden waypoints" of a puzzle cache......unlike me, didn't I go and put the co-ords of ANOTHER puzzle cache final location of mine.......then wondered why it was disabled due to "proximity issues with another cache".........stoopid me! Better to double and treble check before hitting the "submit changes" button Good luck with your cache.
  13. It's happened to me a few times in the last couple of months, even when I've logged in again. Google Chrome here as well. Just as I'm writing this, I'm opening another tab to have another deek.......multi-tasking, or what? [] And the verdict is?.........no smilies [] .....and I seem to have lost the bit about google maps.
  14. Back then I didn't have 85 caches within 16 of home... now I have a thousand within 12! Luckily I'm not a numbers man so I don't have to bag them all this week! I know what you mean, there was only 37 in the whole of the UK when I started!
  15. TalkyToaster did 85 today, over 16 miles. I only know that coz he said on Twitter!!
  16. Heh heh....you just couldn't make it up, could you? I'm still chuckling away, now Reminds me of this email I got....... This is the transcript of an ACTUAL radio conversation of a US naval ship with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October 1995 Radio communication released by the Chief of Naval Operations 10-10-95…….. Americans:- Please divert your course 15 degrees to the North to avoid collision Canadians:- Recommend you divert YOUR course 15 degrees to the South to avoid collision Americans:- This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert >YOUR course. Canadians:- No, I say again you divert YOUR course. Americans:- THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS MISSOURI. WE ARE A LARGE WARSHIP OF THE US NAVY. DIVERT YOUR COURSE NOW! Canadians:- This is a lighthouse……..YOUR CALL.
  17. Just got in as they were giving the 3 answers......and the 1st one was a pointless one.....brilliant! Well done on winning the dosh. So......I obviously missed the bit with geocaching in the conversation, but will watch it on t'inteweb!
  18. Oh dear......a nano......and knowing it has replaced a micro......even worse!! You could always go in the country and hide a "proper" cache, heh-heh!
  19. Just been on the BBC iPlayer and 47mins and 17sec in it is Ann Dunlop in Ayr "Found a Hundred and Eighteen Geocaches" (I know, it's more than three words!!) Linky
  20. Come on, own up.......who was on Simon Mayo's Radio 2 program tonight with their "three word Wednesday" saying "Hundred and Eighty Geocaches"? From memory, me thinks it was a nice Scottish lady?
  21. Said in my best "old geezers" voice........ "Ahh remember when thee could put a cache oot anywhere and thoose would cum and farnd it regardless........aye lad, them wuz thee days"
  22. Go on Moote.........you know you want to!
  23. Oh no........13 finds........that's unlucky, you'd better go out and find some more! Gaz
