Sad too say, But I'll not be releasing any more travel bugs or Geocoins - ever.
Every one that I have released has been stolen.
I have even taken the extra effort to release some of them in extremely remote places that require extra effort to get to. I've had brand new geocoins disappear instantly before the first find, and others that are taken , logged and never moved on. Emails to the thieves of record are never responeded to.
Travel bug tags seem to last a bit longer, but they have all been stolen sooner or later.
Some Geocachers with an apparent long list of finds and hides don't even have a way to contact them listed on Geocaching.com. Is it just a coincidence that everyone of the missing travellers has been last seen by an unlisted member?
Yup - the quality and integrity of geocaching is declining.
