  1. If you use the old dashboard, you can bookmark https://www.geocaching.com/my/default.aspx in safari and it will open your profile in the full site mode. If you use the new dashboard, this won't work and I can't figure out how to do a one-time view of the full site. Another way to open a cache from a link is to let it open in the Geocaching app, then select (...) in the upper right (as of now) the click Share, then Open in Safari
  2. No need to apologize. I'm pretty new to the game. Certainly not in the league of the ones you mentioned (yet )
  3. His note before he left puts him back in O-Town on Wednesday (28th).
  4. Feel free to contact me as well. I'm pretty familiar with caches south of downtown Orlando, including they Disney area.
  5. I'm a bit concerned that no one seems to see the NPS side of things. I don't know the 'official' reason for their refusal, but I can image it states something about the environmental impact. Consider this: Your typical geocacher is fairly knowledgeable in terms of outdoor impact and being gentle to the surroundings. A small portion, however, simply ignore the impact they are having and trash the area looking for a cache. Even such a small percentage of the group can make a huge impact on the land. Magnify this by the large number of visitors that visit the parks, and you can see that the likelyhood of the area around a cache being impacted are greater. I'm sure the NPS recognizes the benefits of caching, particulaly in generating interest in areas of the park the would not noramally be visited, but to manage this they would need to examine each and every cache for impact. This being more trouble than it's worth, they've decided to ban it. I personally support their decision. I believe that the National Parks are much more interesting than your normal National Forest. I might take a hike in my local national forest to get a cache, when I might not normally take that hike (USFS mission accomplished). National Parks, on the other hand, are draws in themselves and travelling to one just to cache is, in my opinion, not a good reason to visit. So if you want to boycott the national parks, that's your right, but I think that you're missing out of some of the most beautiful and interesting places in the world. I recommend taking a walk in the woods WITHOUT your GPSr and your bag of trade goodies from time to time, and I recommend a national park for doing this.
