This is a short promo for the upcoming halloween/geocaching event to be hold in Sumner, Illinois on October 20, 2007 at the house of Gary, the King Of Halloween. This promo gives you an idea of what to expect at the event, what has happened at previous events and is also a sneak peek at the full-length podcast episodes to be published later in 2007 for the SLAGA Geocaching Podcast (http://www.podcast.geostl.com)

  3. I will be in Roanoke the week of Oct 15th. I have a bowling ball size travel bug that would like to travel the eastern side of the country for awhile. Anyone willing to meet up with me to make the exchange. I will be in training until about 5:30 everyday and would be willing to do a little bit of driving to make the exchange. I will be staying at the hotel Roanoke.

If you want to be added to the register, please help me and be specific in your posting. Please indicate if you wish to be added to the register and include your city, state and country. Please do NOT assume I know your state's abbreviation, I may not, I am not an American.

Add me to the register. I live in Robinson, Illinois, USA.

  5. The TB didn't get til Indy until Sunday, so no biggie. It has a date in SE Michigan on Aug. 11th. If it doesn't make it, well then, it doesn't

The more details that come out the worse I feel. I am going to Max B on the rivers house Saturday. I wish I could get to Indy but am working 10 hour days and there is about no way to pull this off. Arrrg!

  6. Are there any organized clubs around Vincennes or Lawrenceville, IL for geocaching? I have been to the L.E.G.S. website, but that is the only one I have found. Thanks!

We have a group in Crawford County (Robinson area) that a few folks from the Lawrencevill area participate. We don't have an official website but we do have a forum. Here is a link to the forum.

  7. I looked at another cachers stat page and his first cache type was event caches. I swear it didn't used to be like that but that is how the stat pages are rendering now. Am I losing it or has the page changed?

  8. The OP was advised of the path he was going down, with a recommendation that he just set the bug loose for normal travel. Yet, the virtual logs continued to flow in. Had they stopped, there would've been no need to lock the trackable.

    I have little sympathy.

And now you know the rest of the story.:laughing:

  9.

I'd say since it appears you are allowing people to log the TB without ever having found or seen it you are in violation of the no virtual bugs rules. But that's just my guess.

You'll need to send an email to gc.com for a formal answer.

BlueDeuce you mean you can't do that? Boy do I know of some coins that are like that. People log them from multiple states the same day. :P I better just stop there.:laughing:

  10. Is there any stores in Vancouver/Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada where I can buy a travel bug? I've looked on the geocaching website and there's only one in Victoria and Victoria is across the water and I don't wanna pay 250 for a ferri just to go buy some silly little thing. If there are stores in the Vancouver/Burnaby area, could you please list me them?

Just buy them online and have them shipped. Click here for a list of stores that can help you out.

  11. Way to go Dan! I think I now have a new person to motivate me..................yeah you.

    Thanks Kris!

I see you and Luckybear have plans for the 21st. We'll possibly be having another one soon too.

Her cousin was getting married next month, to make a long story short, the bride is pregnant and won't fit into her dress next month so it is now on Wednesday. I would much rather be in the Haute then in a church basement all dressed up.

  12. Pneuma and I went Geocaching in Indiana yesterday to celebrate my 5th cache-iversary and his upcoming 2nd. Talk about beautiful days! It was warm with no wind at all. The perfect day to be out!

And I'm glad it wasn't today!

We managed to knock out Captain Leno's Treasure #2 and a few other caches along the way. It's been one of the oldest unfound caches on my nearest list for a long time. It was nice to finally get it.

Today I'm trapped at home with 3 whining kids while my wife is trapped 15 miles away at work. More of the same tomorrow.

Looks like I should have saved Tricky for today. :(

Bret, don't you know you shouldn't be getting that old man out in weather like this. They won't let you take him out of the home anymore if they find out. :D

Good job Dan, now they will be pretending they are from the A-Team and start calling themselves "Face" and "Murdock"

  13.

I figured you wouldn't cache on the coldest day of the year. :P:D

If I wouldn't have to keep these kids at home alone I'd be out in a heartbeat!

    And you know it! :P

I hear you have blizzard conditions up there. Probably better that you have the kids there. :P
