  1. That is so funny as i was just about to post about Bryn finding that cache of mine for you! I love that picture ... I don't
  2. And to sniffadogz for all his work on the yosm.org.uk site. Dave - The Gecko's
  3. Me too Well done, achievements such as this really do deserve their own topic in the main U.K. forum. Dave - The Gecko's
  4. Ooooooh - spoilt for choice, but what a choice this would be, seeing I have flown in a glider over the top, caved in the holes underneath and cranked myself up to the trigpoint several times. Shall I plan a geoparty for the top MrsB? As a bonus you can also log that trig for GC45CC Dave - The Gecko's
  5. Paul THIS appears to be the lowest trig in the UK at -1M. Surprisingly the nearest cache is 5.9 miles away. Dave - The Gecko's
  6. Just installed this and it works really well. Thanks for spreading the word. The link in the first post is incorrect it should be Cooliris Dave - The Gecko's
  7. Well done Edgemaster, all works perfectly again. Thanks for fixing it. Dave - The Gecko's
  8. I can not make this as I will be at the Mega Event. I want to do this trip this year and still hope to go either before or after you. Don't forget you can also log the trig point and you could be first to log this as a cache. It was placed in May 2005 and as far as I can tell hasn't been found yet. Hope you have a good trip. Dave - The Gecko's
  9. Mandy You should be fine with Google Mail. It has LOTS and LOTS of space and you can enable pop access so that you dont have to read it on line if you want. Let me know if you have any difficulty setting it up. Dave - The Gecko's
  10. Once installed you will see that under the usual logged visits counter you now also have "Finder count: ( click to show )" Just click on that and a list of finders will appear below it. Dave - The Gecko's
  11. Assuming you mean finders stats then I don't know of a GSAK macro that does it but if you can do the following. 1. Get Edgemasters enhancement to log counter script for Firefox which can be found HERE and install it. 2. Generate a list of finders using the script. 3. Cut and paste that list into a text file then import it into Excel. From there you can sort the data as you need. It is then easy to produce stats like this:- If anyone knows an easier way please let me know Hope that helps, Dave - The Gecko's
  12. And on one of my caches Well done Dave - The Gecko's
  13. I hope to be able to make it and would certainly have room in my car. Dave - The Gecko's
  14. Congratulations Andy on finding your 1 th cache yesterday. Why you decided on a micro in the woods for your landmark cache only you can say I bet you never thought when your brother gave you a GPS and asked you to visit a cache on Majorca that it would come to this! Dave - The Gecko's
  15. There was a topic on this a few days ago HERE either of these applications should do the trick. If you are using WM6 you should also be able to do this under start/settings/connections/GPS. If I remember you set a hardware port for the other programmes to use. Hope that helps. Dave - The Gecko's
  16. The later versions of TomTom6 have the option for using the built in GPS so setting it up is easy. If you are using an earlier version that doesn't have the option then let me know which "XDA phone/pda thingy" you are using and I may be able to help. Dave - The Gecko's
  17. Mandy One of mine turned up yesterday and the other today. Thanks very much for a superb job. Dave - The Gecko's
  18. I use the SPV M700 and all that I do is:- 1. Load the waypoints into MM on the PC. 2. Connect the SPV to the PC via ActiveSync. 3. Select "PDA" on the MM toolbar on the PC and then select "Export data to PDA" Give that a try Dave - The Gecko's
  19. Duplicate post - Hamsters not fed again?
  20. I use an Orange M700. It comes with Windows Mobile 5 as standard although I have been using WM6 on it for some time and I can highly recommend the device. I have used phone enabled PDA's for some time and this is the first one that has made be put my trusty old Nokia in a cupboard and I don't think it will ever be used again. The GPS on the M700 is reasonably accurate although it doesn't have WAAS. I have had no problems at all using it to find caches using Memory Map or Beeline. You should also find that the phone should be free on a contracts of £ 35.00 per month and over making it a good buy if you already spend that much on mobile calls. Hope that is some help. 21. Where do you get the image from? It is my own (out of date) creation from Google Earth. I had meant to send it to the owner of YOSM.co.uk with the GSAK macro to create it, but either I got no reply, or the email bounced... It was part of a project I had to put T:UK and OS passive station IDs into the spare fields of the GPX file offered there. Edgemaster sent me the file some time ago and intend to add it to the YOSM website in the future. The problem for me is that as far as I can tell the file needs updating manually each time a new location is added. I currently use GSAK for the other files and that is very easy but I need to work out how to update the Google Earth file. When I have some time to do that I will add it to the site and keep it updated. It would be great if GSAK could export a file for Google Earth file but as far as I know that is not available Dave - The Gecko's
  22. I see outforthehunt posted a new location for this cache last night. That now means there are 224 locations across the UK for us to choose from The YOSM web site has been updated with the new details and the league table has also been updated. As I understand it this cache can be logged as many times as you want provided each log is for a different location and is one of the points specified by outforthehunt. It is not unique as there are a couple of other cahes that can move around the UK and even more in other countries. This cache is not an easy option to ramp up your numbers. While you may to be able to log it a few times without too much effort by the time you reach 10+ finds it actually becomes very time consuming with a lot of miles travelled between the various points. Sometimes finding the actual point is also difficult, your average rivet is no larger than most nano's and can literally be in the middle of a field. You do however have the bonus of VERY accurate coordinates to work with Deceangi has just updated the coords for the cache so the cache page is now correct for the first time in ages Long live GC45CC Dave - The Gecko's
  23. Jon The Staple Hill details were removed as you were actually supposed to be logging a trig point at this location. The trig point has gone "missing" and you and others actually logged the nearby surface block. Staple Hill was replaced by Turf Hill which is about 6 miles away. Dave - The Gecko's
  24. I found three adders while completing GC63D5 - Leckhampton Ridge The largest was about 18 inches long and I managed to get a photo of one of them. I found the cache at the end of March this year and they did appear very sleepy. I almost stepped on one of them as they were just sunning themselves on the footpath and were not keen to move out of the way. In the end I had to take a different footpath to avoid them. The following image is borrowed from Hard Oilers log for the same cache. I wish I had seen the sign before going up onto the ridge Dave - The Gecko's
