  1. I have the free app on my phone and I had a free membership for geocaching.com. I upgraded to the premium membership and my app on my phone was also upgraded. I paid the 9.99 for only 3 months since I don't usually cache in the winter months.
  2. I know how you feel, I finally have had time to put out some caches and I decided to put one out with a travel bug. Someone picked it up and still has it. I knew it could go missing, but really, I had my first travel bug out two days and now it is being held hostage. I have emailed them but no response. This is rather disappointing. If you don't move them on, don't take them. However, I will probably place another one some day.
  3. I would love a premium membership, I had a trial membership when I got my gps and it was great. I can't afford $30, I keep thinking someday and am still waiting for that day. Maybe when the economy changes.
  4. I found a cache today that must be archived - would I be able to find it if I only know the name of the cache? Where would I look?
  5. I really hate these maps. No more quickly checking to see where a cache is located - this is the slowest loading map I have ever seen, which is why I didn't use it when it was first introduced. I understand the change because of cost, but these maps really suck. A lot of times I decide at the last minute to pick up a few caches depending on where I am going, I guess that isn't going to happen anymore.
  6. My K-9 is a pug - Dharma, like Sadie, she has no idea why we are in the woods, but she likes to go. She once led me out of the woods, I guess she thought I didn't know where I was going! She is getting up in age, so I can't take her on the long hikes, but there are the short ones & the P&G's and she is more than happy to go. She likes the cemeteries the best, she just sits in the middle of everything like she is visiting someone.
  7. I hate pine/evergreen trees with a micro. I am allergic - meaning I have difficulty breathing, if it was only as easy as wearing gloves. I have found some in pines, but if I can't find it quickly, I have to give up. It would be nice for CO's to add a warning. Mosquitoes have driven me away a couple of times.
  8. My Pug, Dharma, likes to go caching. When muggles are present, I look like I am walking my dog while I am looking for the cache. One time I let her think she lead me out of the woods without me getting lost Her favorite are the cemeteries - she doesn't like bushwacking, but neither do I if it gets too thick.
  9. I've been a Michigan cacher for about 2 years. I was not able to post until today, it would always ask me for my password when I was already logged in. For some reason it is working now. I have been lurking since becoming a cacher - you can learn a lot from the forums. Caching is a great way to get out and about - my cache hound loves caching.
  10. Not only very slow, but lost all the smiley's too.
  11. I asked for a premium membership, but no one listened. I did get to find a cache on my way to my aunts. I might have to break down and get my own Christmas presnt!
  12. I understand what you are saying - I am female and usually cache alone or with my cache hound (she's not a watch dog) I only cache in areas that I feel safe and don't go to areas where I know I shouldn't be alone, such as deserted hiking areas. Although I have gotten braver, I am still cautious. There are many caches that can be found that are in areas that are high profile - many muggles. I am happy to report that I have never had a problem and have only felt unsafe in one location, which I promptly left. I always carry my cell and lots of times call family members so they know where I am. Have fun, just be aware of what is going on around you.
