  1. I have created an idea on the geocaching.com feedback site. It is available here. Please vote!
  2. Hello, On the old version of Geocaching.com, when on the front page of the site after logging in, inside the map search box where "postal code, country, etc." are entered it used to automatically put in home coordinates and you could just click search. This was very useful to me and seems to have got lost in the new site update. Any ideas where it went? I know going to profile>and then under Search Options there is a "Map It" image, and when clicked takes you to the home location centered map. See the image below. This would be great!
  3. I get the same thing... "no results. No geocaches found" when I use the same search function. Please fix! Thank you!
  4. I am too using iOS 4.1 and an iPod touch with the Groundspeak app and I am having the same problem. I downloaded 3 pq's this morning on the app before the update and it worked fine. Please fix! We are working on this as I type. The same issue is causing the problems with DeLorme Cache Register syncing. Thanks for your patience! Thanks Moun10Bike! All seems to be working now!

  6. Thanks! Your pocket query has been saved and currently results in 176 caches. You can preview the search on the nearest cache page. 85 are mine 91 were hidden by others
  7. I am working on a geocaching project and I would like to make a list of geocaching acronyms and their meanings. I have the basic few: FTF –FIRST TO FIND TNLNSL- TOOK NOTHING, LEFT NOTHING, SIGNED LOG TFTC –THANKS FOR THE CACHE TOTT – TOOLS OF THE TRADE BYOP- BRING YOUR OWN PEN/PENCIL CITO – CACHE IN TRASH OUT DNF – DID NOT FIND GPS- GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM GZ – GROUND ZERO SWAG – STUFF WE ALL GET CACHE- GEOCACHE TB – TRAVEL BUG I am wondering if you use any others when you log caches or just use generally. Thanks for your input.
  8. Just to be clear: I was wondering if you have heard of this happening. I would NEVER do this since I live in a very wet climate. This was my way of probing the geocaching community.
  9. Why is it such a bad idea? In an area that gets virtually no rain why wouldn't it work? What kind of bag are we talking about here? What comes to mind is NOT a cheap off brand sandwich bag. I was thinking more of a Glad or Ziploc double seal freezer bag. They are thick and are very watertight.

  11. I am not sure where I heard about this. I specifically remember geocaches being placed in VERY dry climates of (Arizona / Utah) and the only part of the cache was a bag and a log to sign. This way the placers could nestle the bag in between two very close rocks and attach a string to the bag to retrieve it. Why I just though of posting this to the forums... I'm not sure. Since this seems to be against the current guidelines ("...consisting of (at a bare minimum) a container and a logbook."), would this have been grandfathered in or does it exist at all? What have you heard about this, or has it been done? Thanks for your feedback.
  12. I once twisted my ankle when I stepped on unsteady ground and it caved in.
  13. You didn't do anything wrong. I just received my dog cachekinz today and after a bit of searching the icon: is what it is. That is the "custom icon". I too was expecting an icon to look like this: It's a bit disappointing.
  14. It is the fake turd. It is made of spray-on expanding insulation foam. I then airbrushed it with some acrylic paints. There is a film can underneath it. Here it is out in the open: I'm wondering to myself.... what would make this...? I definitely wouldn't touch it, would you?
  15. I just finished this today. So where is the cache in this picture?
  16. NOW THIS IS A FAKE ROCK...... It sure is. It will also set you back $694.56 just for the rock. Ouch!
  17. They are locked. I might try out Waymarking then.
  18. Hello, I found a list of the Locationless caches online here: http://home.comcast.net/~geocacherbb/Locationless.html and I was intrigued. I understand that they are now Waymarking.com categories, but I do want to log the archived ones on geocaching.com. What do you recommend?

  20. Just to clear things up: I was wondwering about the TEXT part not the hyperlink. I don't want to link out to a website, I just wanted to have the TEXT part. Also I wouldn't use it as the full log, just as the last sentence such as "We are visiting from______, TFTC!"
