  2. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=62421 107 pages of cool caches
  3. those are pretty cool collars i do the same thing for myself(keep a personal TB) to keep track of the KMs, well as the crow flys
  4. Fake rock, far right. I think I can see the embossed logo from here. Too obvious. FAIL!!! No, no, no. It's on the guardrail, far left. Just below the dog. no no no no my guess is that you have to pull out one of the cables there then poke your finger in the hole and pull the log out
  5. You'll want to make sure that's actual caution tape and not the "Enter if You Dare" tape for Halloween displays. "Enter if you dare" would be perfect considering were talking bout bringing a open septic tank to light
  6. I was trying to imagine what you were describing. Does it look like this? Septic Tanks If I'm understanding correctly, the holes are open and exposed? If the holes are fairly flush with the ground, this is a big hazard. I guess there are no rocks or boards around big enough to cover the holes? yep thats it with two holes and no covers. i dont think it would be good to just cover it up as the wood would eventually rot and break if someone were to stand on it theres nothing left of the house/shack but the cement foundation and a three foot high wall that's in a square approx 20x15with two openings im pretty sure its on public land theres no buildings or keep out type signs so i think im going to post a warning on the cache page and stand a bunch in the holes and rap some spooky caution tape from the dollar store
  7. so to be a bit more clear on this pit, i don't know what it is. at first i thought that it was the septic tank from the house that was there (from whats left of the house(or shack) there wouldn't be any waste left in there. it has a cement top (not to sure if its all cement) and two manhole openings at the top that are about 3 feet apart it about 10 feet deep and the water level is at about the 6 foot level. ya I think ill still hide it, ill just make sure to mention it in the description plus ill put a few branches in the holes and rap some flagging tape around them i think that should be enough. Thanks for all the options
  8. i was wandering if i could get some options of a hazard at a cache site? OK the site is in town in a wooded area, there are these remnants of a house and some kinda pit, this pit has a manhole on top and is full of water. So my concern is that if someone was to fall in,(if they were looking at there GPSr and not really watching were they were going) they would have a very hard time getting out if they were to be alone. SO i was wandering if i used the skull and cross bones attribute and mentioned it in the description would that be enough? PS I am not planning on hiding the cache near the pit but maybe 100 or so meters away but one would walk through the area

  13. one of my main resones of who is watching my caches is curiosity!! speacally if it a good hide i have one that is right down the street that is pretty good, and when i was at a event i had a cacher ask for a hint, well i gave her one. Later i went to go check on it, and i had it hidding in a small stump, well when i got there the stump had been all broken up to the point were it didnt look like a stump any more. Well i had not gotten the name of the cacher and wanted to help her as she had been there looking about 6 times i just osted a note on the cache page staying that it was a feww feet away.

  17. camp Jullian the Canadian forces base 2005 in between the Kings and Queens castles
  18. Not really, if you look at the descriptions for the caches in Afghanistan and Iraq, very few are under guard like you surmise. Lots of micros, some small caches. Not too many regulars or larges. i spent 6 months as a civilan cook in Kabul,(this was before i new abut geocaching) People would notice someone searching for somthing all stealth like, especally if they were hiding something. The one thing that the millatry always told us was IF YOU DID'NT PUT IT THERE DON'T TOUCH IT!!!!! This is why i think that would have been behind a desk so it could be allways watched. This was also a Canadain base. Idid read some of the logs from Afganastan and as it turns out they were being hiden but now have been outlawed(mostlikly for being suspisous items here is one cache page http://coord.info/GC2JFDD
  19. if they are hidden in a warzone (on a base)then chances are they would be behind a desk were it can always be watched. Hidden things and people looking for them would cause to much attention. plus allways remember IF YOU DIDN'T PUT IT THERE DON'T TOUCH IT!!!!!
