  1. Is this still available and if so how much?
  2. I am desperately ISO a gently used copy of Mapsend Direct Route North America or Mapsend Topo 3d (not the old basic TOPO) I am hoping to Trade for it as we are trying to buy a house and don't have much extra moolah laying around. I have for trade a brand new, still in the box, Magellan canvas clip case for an Explorist (or this would fit other brands that are small, such as a yellow Garmin etrex, or a Gekko), A brand new copy of the Idiot's Guide to Geocaching, and a brand new pair of size 11.5 Technica Pacmoc SD colapsable camping/hiking shoes. And whoever bites and is willing to trade any or all previously said items, I will throw in a nice brand new REI sports bottle w/a 15% coupon inside! Please PM me.
  3. I was just looking for a little help, in the interim, until I can get one of the two softwares available for use with the explorist. I was just hoping someone would be nice.
  4. I recently got an eXplorist 600(which after having to exchange the whole thing because the first was crap!)made me a little nervous about my new GPS. Now, when I checked what versions of what Mapsend software would work with it, it had said that Streets and Destinations Usa WOULD work with it(this was around the end of May). After not being able to figure it out and re-checking the website 2 months later they have removed this program as being compatable (which is slightly irratating) however it has left me with no extra money to purchase software, and I would really appreciate if someone would send me a particular region of Michigan from either topo3d or direct route! I am not interested in all the extra stuff just the detailed map. Please contact me at therovingravenstones (at) twmi.rr.com I would really appreciate it! I will give you my 600 serial number at that time! TIA, Paul
  5. I know this isn't quite in topic, but has anyone had any troubles calibrating the compass?
  6. http://rhamphorinkx.newmail.ru/sf.htm I'm not getting to the linked page????? Is anyone else having this problem?
  7. unless it is pretty perfectly level it will be off! It is an inherent problem with all electronic compasses.
  8. Clyde, I am expecting a explorist 600 to arrive int he mail anytime now so I wanted to preempt it's arrival with a few questions. 1. the export to magellan explorist sd option that writes a file to the *.gs format. Do I need the magellan conversion manager to load that into the explorist or can I just directly input it into the unit? 2. Does that *.gs format work for the internal and external memory of the explorist? 3. Does anyone using GSAK have and explorist 400 or above. How are you using/what techniques are you using with the filters to get the 200 point limit? TIA, Paul
  9. Interestingly enough I got off the Highway in Kalamazoo yesterday and the same thing happened to us! About 40 or so bees or wasps or something just swarmed and attacked the car. It was really, really strange, I mean we were stopped at a stoplight. Last I checked they don't build there nest under manholes???? BTW we have a dark blue Impala... ?
  10. Thanks for those that replied. We ended up doing the Rocks That Grew Earthcache and the Mini Tour of Grand Bend. It is all we had time for and both were great caches although I do have to mention the coords for the mini tour were way off, but it was still findable! We had way much fun!
  11. Hey fellow cachers! We are headed for Port Franks, Ontario tomorrow afternoon and were looking for a reccomendation or two in the area. We do have a 2 year old and will have somewhat limited time, so any spectacular views or very clever hides would be great or any must do.... Thanks Paul, Michelle, and Carter
  12. Fiddlinfool, So what cache brought you so much dismay???
  13. We got ours from VeriPack.com, we got a box of1000 3"x4"X 2 mil(thickness) for $5.30 and $4 ish for shipping. The reason we chose them is you didn't have to have a minimum order, like a whole lot of places do. We have used this company before for shipping supplies and have always loved them. here is a link to our baggies. VeriPack
  14. Mail download error. Error message is: authentication failed After downlaoding the new version and trying to set up the email function, this is the error message I recieved. Does the function work with all POP3 servers? or just gmail? What did I do wrong? Thanks
  15. In doing the little bit of research for this and viewing the cache puzzle, it doesn't appear like the picture given is completely correct. but you should be able to get it at this point.
  16. Try here; http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/upc4.htm
  17. Don't know the puzzle but this is the site I have used previously to search for upc codes. http://www.upcdatabase.com/
  18. Thank you SOOOOOOOO much, that made it much simpler. I knew there had to be a way!!
  19. Filter on all waypoints in Illinois and delete them. Sounds simple, but do you want to delete 150 caches one at a time? Hence my question. How can I do it in bulk, or multiple files, or whatever you want to call it.
  20. Not sure I understand the question. Are you really asking "Is there a way to remove a mass of waypoints from the datatbase"? Please explain I have all the waypoints for michigan, along with all the locationless. A couple of weeks ago I went to chicago and retireved the closest 20 miles, so I could hit a few. Well now the chicago files are integrated with the entire GSAK database, and I would like to remove them, and not one at a time is there a way to do this?
