  1. It didn't work for me either, and it doesn't work on my laptop.
  2. You are not the only one.
  3. I think I deserve a gold medal for putting up with him. His nanny.
  4. Red Duster, told you on the 13th Jan that it was in a nature reserve, yet all you have done is moan that people are finding it. If I was Red Duster, I would archive it. And no you can’t delete their logs. It is your fault.
  5. Ordered my screen from the US, and arrived from Hong Kong, about three weeks later. Took about 15 mins to replace, although I have repared a Garmin before (not glass) so knew what to expect. I now have a spare 550, if I should break it again.
  6. I had arranged to go caching on Sunday with poshrule, and I can’t do without a GPS for many days (what else can you do in this life), plus I have maintenance to do. I have got a new screen on order, but as it’s from America, I’m expecting at least a three week wait. Perhaps I will then have a spare.
  7. Can you beat my record of 4 GPS's in three years? I started with an eTrex H, which I got fed up with after a week, due to it not having any maps. Since then I’ve had an Oregon 400, which I slammed the car door on (twice). Yesterday my Oregon 550t screen got smashed, how I don’t know. Today I received my second Oregon 550. Just for the record, Garmin want £200 to repair a broken glass screen, which you can purchase for £15!!!!! And replace in about 10 minutes.
  8. Hi MrsB, yes I get everything else. I’ve opened another account, just to see if I can get it through that. I was amazed at how difficult it is to get a username that hasn’t been taken. For example r-r, and rutland have been taken, but the owners have never been caching, or at least have never found a cache.
  9. Hi, Can anybody tell me why I do not receive the Groundspeak newsletter? I have the box ticked in ‘E-mail Preferences’, but never get it. What am I doing wrong?
  10. We did one yesterday in Mildenhall. GC29G4B "Child's Play". Wasted a good twenty minutes looking, and wasn't until we looked at the 'Description' that we read:- CACHE IS NOT AT POSTED COORDS This cache has been re-hid in a different part of town.... Listed co-ords N52 20.463 E000 30.093 New co-ords N52 20.975 E000 31.755
  11. The answer seems obvious, if poshrule made all his caches 'premium' then you wouldn't be able to see them.
  12. I often get a red itchy rash on my legs. I always thought it was a nettle rash, although I never felt any stinging. It still appeared even when avoiding nettles. I mentioned it to my doctor, who said it was caused by my walking boots. Up to me knees!!!!!!
  13. True enough, those with such allergies should be prepared for it if they go out into the outdoors. But the CO stated in the hint that there were beehives. So they intentionally placed the cache in an area where bees would be a problem (as part of the challenge, I guess?). That's the part I kind of have a problem with. No i dont agree with the comments about "people who react to stings shopuld be prepared" there are people at all ages that dont know how they react to stings espicially Bee Stings as there are lots of different variants of Bees with different degrees of the affect of the sting and reaction... I react to stings and all of my towns doctors will not perscribe a eppy pen to me, they dont just give them out for fun.... This should be ARCHIVED..... I thought it was a silly place to put a cache, when I found it in April although there were no bees about then. As the hives are close to the Holdingham Leasingham cycle route perhaps the owner should be made to move them. Where ever the CO moves the cache you are still going to walk past them.
  14. I've never had powerlines making any sort of difference to my GPS signal. What sort of unit are you using ?? Garmin's Oregon instructions for calibrating the compass states; Do not stand near overhead power lines. So they must effect them, magnetically.
  15. I've never had powerlines making any sort of difference to my GPS signal. What sort of unit are you using ??
  16. Perhaps there should be achievement coins for DNF’s as there is for finds.
  17. It's not just my photos. Closed Norton, but that did nothing. I can right click, and open them in a new window, or new tab, but not double clicking.
  18. I've just tried it on my laptop, and it works fine there. Must be this computer, could be Norton.
  19. Is it me, or Firefox. When ever I try to view a logged photograph I get this error 'The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later'. Not sure if it started after the upgrade, or not. It even happens with the photos that I have uploaded. Very strange.
  20. Thanks for the tips. Installed on my TomTom300, and it works fine. Even tried to walk to one rural cache today, and couldn't work out how to get to it. Went back to the car, and the TomTom took me right to it. GREAT.
  21. Thanks, got it now. Not sure if I will ever use it though.
  22. A cache I found today included a pack of "bolts and wingnuts"! I suppose that they might be useful, if you needed a "bolt and wingnut", but I'm not sure that it is the first thing that would spring to mind when I was stocking a cache box!! Incidentally, the same cache contained a TB dog tag, with nothing attached. I assumed that it had become detached from something already in the box so, I took it along with the only object that looked as though it could be part of a TB. I've since had a message from the person who dropped it off to say that is how he found it and he was the first to pick it up! Do I move it on with the "hitch-hiker"? I would have thought that 'bolts & wingnuts' would be very useful. I never find anything useful in a cache, it's always rubbish.
  23. Where do you find the MO button on a 550t? I always use ‘Mark Waypoint’, and name it car, or clear the ‘Tracks’, so that you can see where you started from.
  24. I have no problems with nano's. I always carry a pair of tweezers with me, to get the logs out. As a cache owner, they do seem to go missing more often than other containers, and the logs do fill up quickly. So I will not be putting any more out.
  25. I did check this one out, and it had indeed gone missing. Removed the replacement cache, and replaced, but in a slightly different area, as this was the second time this one had gone missing.
