  1. Sorry, from everything I can tell, there's no way for the usb to communicate with the vpc7. Something is in the way, but no one will tell me what. Microsoft says call garmin, garmin says call mac, mac says call Micrososft. Where I'm from, this is called a circle jerk! Bastards all of em.
  2. Hmmm. Bummer. When is vpc 7 due out, I only see 6.1 on the apple website.
  3. Alright, i'm a doof, Can some one break it down for me. If I have a Mac powerbook G4 running VPC and a garmin 60cs, will garmin Metroguide 5 with usb support work to my 60cs plugged in with usb? From what I understand from the sales people, VPC runs like windows xp on a MAC, so if Metroguide and Garmin run on xp, they'll run on my mac. Too simple?
  4. Wow, sweet Mattloaf, thanks. I too was just shopping macs, and belive it or not, running Garmin apps worries me. Does virtual pc run the Garmin programs properly? Anyone know?
  5. Dosn't the basemap allow routing within the limits of it's details?
  6. Spent the day navigating today with mine. Noticed a couple of pet peeves. -When you enter waypoint to navigate to, hit go to, unit calculates. Then I go to the instruction page, and it alway starts with the second instruction at the top, hiding the first (and most important) from view. You have to scroll up to get it . Annoying. -There's a little picture that pops up sometimes in the lower left corner, looks like a searching for satalites gif. Problem is, when your trying to do other things, it blocks the selection boxes or input entry dialog box and won't go away till it finds the satalites. I tried to Use with GPS off selection to remove it so I could just search the map info, but it still wouldn't go away till I turned the whole unit off, then back on, then use with gps off. again, cute, but annoying. Anyone else notice these? I'm running 3.20 now.
  7. Somewhere in my searches at one of the better know GPS sellers (can't remember the exact one though) they had a case\cover for the rino that looked like it would work pretty well for the 60 series too. Never followed through to check though. Anyone else seen\tried it? Pete
  8. Awsome thread snowake, Keep it up guys! Very helpful hints. Can anyone in english tell me what an ambiant barameter is, and how I can use my altimeter funtion to best forcast weather? I didn't do well in Earthscience class in highschool, I should have payed attention, but nooooo, I was too smart, when would I ever need to understand weather patterns. Idiot
  9. Umm, I'm very new to geocaching and am not a computer pro, should I wait to worry about this program, or will it help me in my new hobie now? thanks all. Pete
