  1. I find that if I go into Internet Explorer ( not Edge) I can use the Garmin Communicator with out any problem.... While it's a hassle having to switch to a different browser, it solves the problem... I have a Garmin e-trex and have to do this to get my caches downloaded. I can download my drafts from my regular browser (chrome) straight from the geocahing.com site. Hope that this helps you out some.
  2. Sounds like "Letterboxing"; not really geocaching, but I have run into them by chance while seeking a nearby cache. They use paces from known landmarks, etc. No Stamp or ink pad were in the container. (have done the letterbox in geocaching)
  3. A couple of years ago while geocaching, I ran into a cache that was with in a cole of yards of a geocache that was listed on geocaching.com. I had actually signed both logs and went to the site listed for the other and logged it. but wanted to revisit that caching site. just wanted to know if any one knows of that other site o if it has even gone defunct! It is along the lines of geocaching but instead of using a GPS you have to travel x amount of distance/feet/miles from a landmark to reach the cache. if any one could tell me the name of the site, I would greatly appreciate it.
  4. I (as a PM) haved solve a puzzle that a non-geocacher helped me figure out the clues, and it is a Premium Cache! now If the non-geocacher/basic is with me when I find the cache I don't have a problem. I have also adopted a cache from someone and it is now Gone! Not due to basic members who don't care or are recklessin rehiding, but by Joe Public (non-geocacher) that used that particular location as a Drinking Spot! I have many times taken my husband or kids geocaching with me caching and I have been the only one logging, and at a recent Meet and Greet, my youngest kid has decided to start logging her own as a basic member! I would hope that as a PM owner that (if she is logging a premium cache) would under stand that often times there are parents that take their children with them caching! if it is a puzzle type, and the parent has solved it, that doesn't mean the child hasn't helped look for the container! I live in a state that has mountains and if I am going caching in the wilderness, I will be taking her with me (as well as telling someone where I'm going....And yes there are some puzzle caches in the mountains! We are alwats apreciative of all the hard work that goes into a puzzle!
  5. How can you know who has solved the puzzles? I have solved several puzzles for PM-only caches where a PM visiting the cache together with me profited from my work or in other cases the work was done together. Cezanne
  6. I too am a Lurker! I have been caching for a few years, but have only lurked to find answers to questions! However had to post a question, and in further lurking found this topic!
  7. My tb has recently lost its hitch hiker, the Gentleman that picked it up was kind enough to help get a new hitch hiker put on and has sent the pictures so that I could update the page. Now my question is I want to repay him and start a TB for him in his name, how can I do this other that contacting him to activate it after I have gotten the new TB put together?
