All of a sudden, my GPSmap60CX started giving me an on screen message of "Calculating" whenever I selected a waypoint to find. The manual states : "When a significant event in the operation of the unit occurs, an on-screen message appears to advise you of the occurrence....In some instances the message may indicate a temporary condition, such as the “Calculating Route” message, and closes as soon as the condition is remedied." It is happening all the time now and after it is thru calculating, it takes me to the map, even though I do not have the map listed in the page sequence, so I have to continually page thru to the navigation screen .. which is what i like to use all the time. Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know how to fix it so it will stop! I was thinking a master reset, but I don't know how to do that either.

Yeah, us FLGRL's have that rep because we wrestle alligators for fun. God help 'em if they're in the the path of a cache! <i can say that here...but I cry like a little girl when I actually see one>

Yes, unless the cache is locked by gc.com (which would be for highly improper activity) When you post a Note on the cache just explain simply what you are doing and that you will delete the Note.

The original cache where it started is now archived...can I still drop it in there to start the mileage?

I only want the true mileage the bug traveled, I don't want to 'double' the miles (thats kinda cheating) So I understand the post, thank you for the step by step to get this done.

I physically placed my very first TB in my first cache, but apparently I forgot to drop it into my cache from the cache page. I made posted note on the cache page I was dropping a TB and someone grabbed it from the cache. Now its gone over 2000 miles on its first trip, but that mileage isn't showing up on the TB page. Are there any suggestions on how I can get those miles recorded? I thought about emailing the current holder and asking them to drop it in one of my other caches and pull it out...or I can grab it from them, drop it and they can pull it out. I'm open to suggestions...I'd just like to see the mileage since its my first one...

I've experienced all the problems in this thread! I'm on my 3rd venture hc after dealing with Garmin on all the issues Now...another problem. I downloaded the latest software the other day and now the unit freezes up. I have to remove the batteries to turn it off. Had to do it 4 or 5 times in a row today. I've done the reset steps, reloaded the software, etc, didn't help. Garmin offered yet another refurbed etrex venture hc but since i'm out of warranty, i have to pay $79. i think not...time for something new. has anyone else experienced this?

I can't believe I found this! I was so bogged down with paper, it'd take me hours. So I'm anxious to get on the road and check this out.
