  1. Quick and excellent responses. Thanks for the information. I was going crazy over the waypoint/waymark thing.
  2. I am going to find the Mission 9: Tunnel of Light Project APE cache outside of Seattle, WA in a few weeks. There are a few trailhead waymarks listed on the page and I would like to find out if there is a map associated with them, and where the trailhead actually are. They are listed with a "Trailhead" icon and an "available" icon. The coordinates are posted. They are listed by Mountainbike. If I do a search for him nothing comes up. If I do a search of a 100 mile radius from Seattle, nothing comes up. What am I doing wrong?
  3. Sign me up. Dont expect much, but I will do my best when the snow starts to melt.
  4. I found one in a junkpile for old transit buses in New Jersey. It sounded great because it was from the Wierd NJ series, but what a waste of time. I had to go through a hole in a fence and search through a bunch of old, rusty crappy buses. I did find it though, but my thoughts were, what a waste of time.
  5. Why not just make it a traveling cache?

Welcome bambam to the fun. You will find these forums very useful/helpful. Dont be afraid to ask any questions. Cachers will go out of their way to either answer you directly or show you where to go.
  7. I realize that some wheelchair bound people are alot more mobile than others, but place yourself in their position and figure out if the normal wheelchair person could find it.
  8. 1 of each for me. Filling out the order form is not the same as ordering it, correct?
  9. I always cache with the following in my pack: Digital camera - you never know what you might see out there Gerber multi-tool Extra pens and pencils Mini maglight A bunch of Dunkin Donut's napkins - for when nature calls (you laugh) A bag of swag Travel bugs Compass Chapstick Cellphone Extra batteries - I use rechargables. Invest in them, it will pay off Water - most of the time I have a camelback Logsheets Plastic baggies and a few logbooks - I replace them in caches that really need them Safety whistle - you just never know Mini thermometer Depending on the season, extra socks, gloves, hat, or sunblock and bugspray! Wow, I guess I never tallied what I take. No wonder my wife rolls her eyes when I am getting ready. "What are you doing, climbing Everest?"
  10. No one said it was going to be easy. If it was, everyone would be doing it.
  11. 1 horse - Whimsical Doodles (Whimsy) 1 donkey - Picasso (Puck) 1 indoor rabbit - Nutmeg We board the horses. They do not geocache. My 2 daughters are like animals at times. Does that count? If they did, I have 2 Tazmanian Devils.

Dont be too surprised when you DON'T find one though. For some reason, cachers have come to cherish these glorified $3 Walmart hotwheels. Do a good search and check the dates for the jeep placement. Good work up front pays off for those times when you might find yourself hiking a few miles each way up the backside of a skislope only to find that there is no jeep and it has been missing for months and you were too busy too check it out beforehand....not that I would know anything about that.
  13. I am sure the answer has been answered, but I could not track it down quickly. I had a virtual coin that I now want to place in a cache I am hiding. The coin is no longer virtual, but the listing has me locked out and says it is not accepting any more logs. Can I reactivate the same number so I can use it again, or is there a way to open up the same listing? I dont care about the miles already built up on it. I just want to place it in a cache. Am I out of luck on this one? Thanks for all the help in advance.
  14. I would be up for something like pre-1950's BM's. My suggestion would be to wait a few months for us Northeners though. This sounds like a fair and balanced way to get me back into the hunt.
  15. A woman in my office has this one in her workspace: Obsessive Compulsives Anonymous: Knock 19 times and go away
  16. When I cache alone, I rarely trade items. When my 5 year old comes, I have been known to take an item without trade. It is usually the things I think nobody would take anyway. When I do that, I try to make up for it by dropping something off in another cache without taking anything. Sometimes it is very hard to say no to my daughter when she is almost peeing her pants from excitement.
  17. You'll always remember your first time.
  18. So what happens when someone decides to keep you?
  19. Ask them. What's the worst they could say...NO? I have found a few on Conservation land in a few different states. I think it is totally up to the land manager.
  20. I just got back from Arkansas where I received my 4th case of PI this year (a personal record). I just got over the rubbing my legs raw stage.
  21. 1 violation, oh well. 2 violations, get the point. 3 violations is not bad luck. 5 violations, STAY AWAY. You cant cache someplace else in Colorado except for a parking lot?!?!
  22. It's your cache. If it is reasonable, do it. I wouldnt mind finding it.
