  1. Hi Nymm, I know you prefer buttons but if you change your mind and want to go with a touchscreen I have an Oregon 600 for sale on the Garage sale side of this forum. It comes with City Navigator North America (road maps) and I may still have my SD card that has the Garmin Topo Maps (or there are plenty of high quality and FREE Topos out there on the web). Let me know if you're interested as I'm sure we can meet on a price that's in your range.
  2. While the MSRP for this is $399, I'm willing to accept the best offer.
  3. I bought a Garmin Oregon 600 a few months back and have barely used it. I've found a few geocaches with it and used it on an 8-mile hike back home in Colorado but, mainly, we just stare at each other. It does work great for caching and I really like the custom maps feature for hiking (add your own map overlays of parks, campuses, etc). All-in-all, I'd say I have used for a total of 5 hours. Comes with the carabiner and a USB cord (which doesn't come with the unit brand new). The price includes shipping to any US location but we can discuss international shipping if necessary. Photos and other details available upon request. PM me if you're interested and thanks for looking!
  4. Hello everyone, First off, I'm starting my adventure into web development and have plenty of html/css and jQuery experience. My JavaScript skills, outside of jQuery, are, let's just say, elementary. I've been playing around with the Google Maps API v3 and have successfully loaded the map, added multiple markers with infowindows, added KML overlays and used AJAX to display a track in GPX form. Here's where I'm hoping I can enlist the help of the talented and good looking devs in the geocaching community. I would like to write an AJAX call that will parse a gpx file (found caches, in this instance) and display the markers on my map. I can't find any example of this online other than what Bing Maps has in their API documentation. That said, has anyone out there done this kind of thing? I have been successful in saving the GPX file as a KML, hosting said KML and using that with the API but I'm trying to figure out AJAX and would love to do this. Note, this isn't for any work or school related project - it's just for me to play around with JS and AJAX. I can set up an example map with the KML overlay on my personal site and link to it, if anyone would like. Thanks for any help anyone can provide!
  5. I have a practically new Etrex 20 - I say "practically" because it's only a couple weeks old. I bought it without asking the wife and then found out she had already ordered me a Garmin Oregon 600 for Father's Day - oops! I've used this unit to find a few caches but it hasn't really been outside too much. Not only will you receive the unit but you'll also get the USB cable, carabiner, and a microSD card loaded with City Navigator for turn-by-turn navigation. Private message me if you're interested. Thanks for looking!
  6. After careful consideration, I believe $300 is a fair price for this unit. In fact, it's almost a steal at this price - especially with all that comes with it.
  7. I even have a PayPal account to help expedite getting this unit in your hands.
  8. I bought a Garmin Oregon 600 the week it came out, put my 100k Topo on it, and purchased City Navigator North America 2013.40 for it. I'm not caching much right now and this little device wants to get out and play. So, my loss is your gain! There are some scratches on the case, however, the screen is in perfect condition. This will come with an 8gb SD card that contains the maps, a USB cord, an automotive window mount, automotive power cable, and the standard carabiner clip. I even have the original box! All of this (maps included) retails for about $650 but I'm only asking $450. It's the perfect GPS for a wide range of activities (I've used the on road routing on a couple trips and it works flawlessly). Message me if you have questions.
  9. There's a reason for that. Yah. Garmin doesn't worry about market share. People will buy it just for the name alone and be willing to pay the extra price for it. I call it the 800 lb gorilla. There's a reason people buy Garmin's for the name...
  10. Try http://www8.garmin.com/aboutGarmin/sponsorship/?activeBranchId=about and fill out the request form. Be sure to select "Product Donation" in the drop down under "what is the request." I hope this helps.
  11. This is awesome! Thanks for sharing!
  12. I see people with lots and lots of pics in their galleries. My question is: How do I put pics in my gallery without posting the pics to a cache page w/ a log?
