  1. That's like the "opt out" option on a lot of privacy/spam lists...not good. Use "opt in."
  2. That explains it. I get it twice a week, but the cache gets many more logs. Looking back, I see I've missed many, many before but never noticed it. By the way, I actually got 6 new logs from my last download. Thanks for the quick reply. Edit; ooops, one of those six was mine..so it's still 5.
  3. I have a question about "missing logs" after a download. One of the caches I got on my download at the end of the 27th is missing about 15 logs - essentially most all of the page logs for the 26th and some for the 27th, except for the last cache log on the 27th. In other words, my GSAK page is missing a whole lot of material. What could cause this?
  4. I like it. Thanks for the link. I figured there was one, but didn't ever know where. I always try to stop and read them if I see them. This will let me make a visit schedule if I'm going to a certain area.
  5. Never mind....I think maybe I know..probably is Comcast trying to get me to sign up for its new Mcafee Security service. All Comcast email holders will probably get this "nice" warning on emails with attachments.....
  6. Hmmm. I just a PQ that said in the title: Warning: (Virus check Bypassed)..then the usual PQ number/name.. something maybe going on related to this change
  7. Whose face is that in the waterfall? Did you ever see The Sixth Sense? Weird play of light.
  8. List your signs showing "Ringbone County", "Ringbone Ranch", "Lake Ringbone" etc. Each visit log would be required to contain a certain question at the very beginning.
  9. I would like to see a category for the many great round barns of the late 19th and early 20th century that still exist today.
  10. 1. Thanks for not placing a cache because you haven't found the "perfect" spot ? 2. Put the cemetery caches on your ignore list. It's easy. 3. Close this topic in the Geocaching Topics thread or the Midwest thread - both aren't needed.
  11. I thought some of you cemetery cachers might be interested in this:
  12. I've been using the GSAK/Cache Mate combo for over a year with no problems. Starting this weekend I am having a problem. After the hot sync, when I click on the cachemate icon it does as it always did - import the file. Now is seems to be moving incredibly slow and stops after 700 records out of 950. It then gives me an error message like "there was an error importing the records. One or more records may have been imported." Any suggestions?
  13. Just an update. There is now a Podcast Cache Oldfields Podcast GCQ4E1 on the Art Museum Grounds too. Could make it 4 from one parking spot.
  14. My only travel bug California Dreamer has finally made it over 3,000 miles in 14 months from Indianapolis to Muir Woods near SF. Thanks to everyone who helped him along his way
  15. Probably a silly question but...OK, I got a PQ today with a note on the email telling me to click the link at the bottom to run the PQ next week. So does that mean click it now? Or click it when I want to run it next week? Thanks
  16. Got mine today too Great looking!!
  17. I agree with Cybret on His Favorite Niece GC34F2- a virtual at the highest point in Indianapolis. If you do that cache you will also be very close to what I think is an excellent spot to find 3 caches from 1 parking spot at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. GC6BFB - Monet's Montage; GCPE7E - Bowstring Pony Truss Bridge and the real kicker - Fairbank's Art and Nature Preserve (a real treat of a walk along the river). The entire loop is proably less than 1.5 miles. Plus you can see a lot of other cool things on the museum grounds and go inside if you want to. But it's also somewhat related to where you'll be and how much daylight time you'll have to cache. If you're at any of the business/meeting complexes on the northeast side, you may want to select a different batch.
  18. Here's the complete link from the FAQ's pinned at the top of the page: FAQ on Reviewer Note
  19. In my earlier post I pointed out that I have a cache that requires a black light . I selected a difficulty "4" because it would probably take them at least 1 trip to realize they needed a blacklight, then they'll have to make a return trip with one. I note in the description it will probably take more than 1 trip, but I don't tell them why. On another related issue. I experimented with several black lights, inks, times-of-day, etc when I was planning my cache to simulate another cacher looking for it. Have you "practiced" with your cache and black light to see if they will be able to find it? Assuming most people end up with a pet store urine detector ($10-$15) or internet ~$9 w/S+H. These usually need to be very close (<2') to the surface to see the "paint". Will that be good enough to find your container? The keychain blacklights sold to detect the strips in the new U.S. currency need to be even closer. To have the kind of "flashlight blacklight" that will illuminate 5- 10' ahead - they are ~$75. Yeah, I bought one as I got more interested in black lights, but I wouldn't expect a cacher to spend that amount of $ to find my cache.
  20. I own a listing where you need a blacklight to read additional coordinates at the first stage. It's kind of implied in the description and there's a picture of someone using a blacklight in the first stage. I didn't list the terrain as a 5 which might put off some physically challenged cachers - when it shouldn't, instead I upped the difficulty to a 4. Crime Scene
