  1. You do you, Groundspeak Forums. How do you do you?
  2. I've noticed the geocaching-platinum.com site does not require auto-renewal.
  3. Guess whose daughter will be studying for a semester abroad at a University on the coast above Sydney? I am planning to visit her because, you know, she will get homesick I need to increase my countries count. Our draft game plan is to drive south along the coast to Sydney and back, so the "Easterly Extreme" cache mentioned in your post is definitely a possibility for our "caches we both found" list. Although I have found caches in 41 countries, I have never been to Australia. I am waiting for teleportation to be perfected.
  4. I am still having this issue. Was anything changed to remedy it?
  5. I have been a member for 12 years. I have my reasons for not autorenewing. I don't need to explain my reasons to anyone. The discussion about the efficacy of the current tact has been useful. Telling people they should not be concerned is not useful. Yes, I know how to get around the autorenewal. That is NOT the point.
  6. I believe Oregon law requires the above. see here
  7. I am really disappointed with you people.
  8. Hmmm. I just checked, it says the same thing on the US renewal page. I know there was always an option in the past. I hope this is just a better mistake today.
  9. I am already working on my input for the roast at your retirement party. "Keystone was so lackadasical that once he..." "Keystone and an improvident reviewer walk into a bar..." "Keystone threatened to retire so many times that..."
  10. First sentence is true and is good advice. Second sentence should not be relied upon.
  11. Hey, I can see my house on the map!
  12. Quite a coincidence, after 12 years and 549 DNF logs, my rate is exactly 7.04%
  13. I can't open ANY of your caches. Odd.
  14. There is a StarWars Darth Vader humidifier, so I would vote for a Geocaching humidifier.
  15. It hasn't. That's a pretty accurate re-telling of my email to you. But I would never say "um." I don't remember writing that a survey would happen "in a few weeks," but perhaps someone not involved in the process would have. Or perhaps I have amnesia. In any case, you'll see a survey very soon. (Cue the back-and-forth about what defines "very soon.") I refer to the final post #478 in the User insights thread on this subject from over 6 months ago. "Thank you very much for contributing to this User Insights forum. We'll use your feedback to create a survey that will be available in the coming weeks."
  16. Has anyone heard anything about the survey they were going to conduct "in a few weeks"?
  17. I am sure they have an explanation, I just can not even imagine what it would be.
  18. Missing for me on my phone.
  19. Don't forget to archive all caches in the woods. We wouldn't want a lawsuit when somebody slips on a mushroom.
  20. Right. And it doesn't tell you how to poach an egg either.
  21. Returned from Finland and Norway last night making it 39 countries so far. Plus I learned that the most popular foods in Norwegian grocery stores are pizza and Mexican. There are full aisles of both, Who knew?
  22. I have only been around here for 11.5 years so I can not speak to the entire history of this subject, but I do know the "about the numbers" gripes have been going on at least that long. Exacerbated by, but not originated in, the power trail phenomenon.
  23. A useful recommendation. However if it is on a todo list at all it was way below other seemingly more useful recommendations.
  24. You aren't forced to check the Message Center when you log on. I notice one message that had been waiting for over two weeks before I read it. I had the notifications turned off from the Message Center, so I didn't know they had sent me the message. It was from a cacher who had logged a cache of mine, they were giving me a bit more detail of the cache situation. I said see it not check it. You're getting your knickers in a rather big knot over a little yellow dot in the top right hand corner of the screen then. Relax a little, you might actually enjoy life. It is not a little yellow dot, it is a number. Why is it wrong for me to say I don't like something and want to turn it off? I asked a very simple question, and all everyone wants to do is jump on me because I don't like the feature. Why is it wrong to want to turn this off? I don't care if others want to use it, I just want to turn it off for myself. I don't like it either and I wish there was an opt out feature. You are free to say the same. However, that request had been made in many places in the forums NUMEROUS times with the same response. It ain't gonna happen. They came up with this communication method. Then they implemented it and then patted themselves on the back when a flawed survey (my opinion) said everybody loves it. The majority of comments here in the forums are negative, but forum comments are given little or no weight. Again, I agree with you but you are spinning your wheels because it is a fait accompli. But ifyou want to spin your wheels you should feel free to do so without being berated by others.
