I heard about geocaching on another forum when I started a post entitled...I need an adventure. Someone pointed me toward geocaching.com and now I"m dying to find my first cache.
My main hurdle was getting a GPS unit. I have a lot of gadgets and I'm technically inclined but never having seen or used a GPS before I have no idea what features I need or am looking for.
I know I want one that can connect to my computer.
Well I was in Best Buy yesterday and they had a Magellan SporTrak Map open box for $169 with a $30 MIR, then I had a $20 Gift Card. So I went ahead and picked it up while it was available.
I've seen several posts about Garmin vs. Magellan so I'm not trying to start a flame war, but is there any reason to return this one for the Garmin Legend?
Are the features comparable? The main thing I'm going to be using this for is geocaching and maybe some wardriving.
As a side question - What do most people have in their bags when they go out?
I've seen some people post about downloading info to PDA's so if it will matter with suggestions I have an iPaq 2215.
Thanks
