  1. Thinking about it now, the movie "Rat Race" kinda reminds me of a FTF hunt. Especially in a very busy caching area.
  2. I dont have the gpsr pluged into the laptop, nor do I have any kind of wifi devices enabled. I just have the laptop running on battery power. If I put the laptop in the back seat it still causes problems, just not so much. It must be just something in my laptop causing some noise. I guess I can live with it. Its just nice to be able to look at PQ in the car and not have the gpsr go out while doing it. (not driving of course)
  3. Here is a picture of me and my geocaching bike at the hampton roads CITO day. I use my car mount and some tie wraps to my accessory bar. Works pretty good but on rough trails the gpsr gets shaken up a bit.
  4. Has anyone ever had the problem like mine? When I turn on my laptop, I lose my GPSr signal and can't pick up any satelites. I can only guess that the laptop is putting out some kind of interference. Anyone in the know out there can share your experience with me so hopefully I can fix this.
  5. Hey, thanks alot, thats pretty much what I wanted. Its far easier to give a card than to try and explain what your doing.
  6. I was thinking about making up some buisness cards with a brief description of what geocaching is and listing geocaching.com to give to people I meet on the trail that may be interested. I was thinking I could make a lot of them and leave some in caches for other people to use. What do yall think?
  7. Being the new Geocacher that I am, I was going to ask this very question. Just want to bump this up to get some more funny ideas. I was going to tell adults the truth, and make up stuff for any kids that wonder by. I have only done geos at night when no one was around so I have not encountered anyone yet. I told a cop buddy of mine that if he sees people walking around looking for something holding a GPS that this is what they are looking for so he wont go bother them if they look semi normal.
  8. Hi, New poster here. About 4 years ago I was on a British Airways flight to the middle east and they had a little video screen in the back of the seat in front of you. One of the channels you could select was a GPS map with location speed and alt. I thought that was pretty cool seeing how we went around Iraq to get to where we were going. I think I heard some of the newer american carrier planes are getting the screens too, and you can even listen to the pilot talk to ground control. GHOTI123 Garmin GPS V
