  1. Thanks for the info. I thought it was too good to be true.
  2. I have released my share of tb's over the years, most have gone missing, until today. I received discovery logs for 3 of mine and 1 of my sons that have been missing between 4 to 12 years. I emailed the person and his reply was that he saw them in a tote or listed on a paper in the Midwest. He didn't say exactly where, but I did see he attended the GeoBash mega event in Ohio. I hope if they were there more people will log them.
  3. I am a merit badge counselor for geocaching. The scout does not have to place a cache to earn the badge. It is one option that they can do. I encourage them not to place a cache and to do one of the other options.
  4. I was the Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 98 for about 10 years.

A cacher grabbed it and has been dipping it in caches in Texas

    Missing tb

Our family had a surprise this week. A tb of ours that has not been logged for 4 years, 4 months and 2 days showed up at an event in Texas. It had been last picked up by a young cacher in Massachusetts over 4 years ago. Not sure how it got to Texas but we are just glad it is moving again. I guess it just proves you shouldn't give up on your missing tb's.
  7. Good luck with your tb. I've had one in an unpublished cache in California for over a year. No response from the person who last held my tb.
  8. I've had several encounters with officers. The latest was last summer trying to do a webcam cache. Officer running radar close to were I had to be. So there I sat on the bumper of my car waiting for the camera to update. He kept watching me put left me alone. I should add the place was closed and I was the only person in the parking lot. Then I went down the road a ways to do a guardrail micro. While I was looking I heard a car approaching so I went into CITO mode. Of course it was a different officer who asked me what I was doing. I decided not to bs him and explained to him about geocaching. He thanked me for telling the truth, then told me about an encounter with another cacher who was doing the same thing I was and lied to him about the whole deal. He was not a happy camper. He did let me find the cache before sending me on mey way.
  9. I have a tb stuck in an unpublished cache in California since Feb. The person who dropped it does not answer my emails.
  10. How about repairing the cache yourself or adopting if you like it and live in the area. Just a thought.
  11. I would like to apologize to everyone who replied to this topic. First let me say I DID NOT start this topic. My wife's nephew who is known as lostrkr did under my account. I only found this by accident today when I searched for all my postings. I can understand your frustrations. Again I am sorry and I will beat him severely with something large.
  12. You might send an email a cacher named Xiadog located in Massachusetts. I know he has a Gramin Extrex for sale.
  13. A CHEESEHEAD........You know I have a fire helmet cheesehead. Packer fan at heart. So COOL!!
  14. Please don't send blue. I would never harm a fellow cacher-no matter what team he follows. For the record, I am from the midwest. A little NW or Indy. All I can say is Brett Farve for PRESIDENT.
  15. Hello Matt, Your secret is safe, I won't post it anywhere in New England. Maybe we can talk at the next SNEG event that we both attend and discuss an arrangement. Am I a Pats fan? Sometimes-depends who they are playing. I think the Colts will have no problem Sunday. See you on the trails.
  16. looking for someone on the west coast that i can mail a tb to so it can work it's way back here
  17. I'm a little greedy. I would like a 60 csx and a 76 because I can't decide which one I really want. I have a hiking stick, but a really nice custom one to show off at events would be nice. I new caching truck. Good on gas. That's about all for now. Merry Christmas to all.
  18. There are several people who have helped me along the way, but I think the most inspirational person is jode from Massachusetts. She has been battling a serious illness but still finds the time and energy to go caching. She also was a volunteer for a two day event that was held this past weekend. She placed and verified a bunch of caches some which included kayaking.
  19. My sister-inlaw created a tb called MY DAD in honor of her and my wife's father. He loved to hike and we all think he would have loved geocaching. I say go for it.
  20. YES, my first coin came today.
  21. I grew up on a dairy farm and my parents didn't have time to take me to scouting. So I had to wait to get married and have boys to join scouting. I have been a leader now since about 1992. My oldest son made eagle a couple of years ago and my youngest is a Webelos. They both go caching with me.
