  1. Is it a Moose?? Hard to tell with no definition in the bottom. I think it might be too narrow for a cow as suggested. Not sure though just a guess
  2. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=217685 This just came on you may want these are less look at me look at me lol.
  3. Does Delorme accept .gpx files directly or do you have to run it through a converter??
  4. Have you accepted the terms this might be the hold up.
  5. $2.50 a month to be a PM cough it up or stop whining. You probably have more than that in just pocket change a month that you throw in a change jar. Break open that little piggy and help keep this site running.
  6. Correct me if i am wrong but aren't EPE (Estimated Position error) and accuracy the same thing??? Just curious not trying to sound condescending or anything. Just thought it would be helpful to know the difference. Thanks
  7. If this is inside the cache and these police suspected it to be a bomb. Why were the pilfering through. I suppose the brought out the x-ray. I don't think so unless it was a big city with a bomb squad most police stations don't have that kind of resources. Forgive me if i am missing something in this i did not see the whole article.
  8. I am not to familiar with garmin products. I have heard of some of the automotive gpsr that you can put it into hiking mode or on foot mode and this has been said to help immensely. I don't know where when or how but someone here should know if you can do this or not.
  9. Also make sure to bring plenty of water for your dogs. People often forget this important aspect. I have heard of dogs collapsing in the heat.
  10. My wife and I go with 3 count it 3 weimaraners. Make sure to have all your rabies and vaccination tags that your state requires and most of the time on leash very rarely will you find a park that will allow off lead. Like state forests do that should be fine i usually keep mine on leashes because they are hunting dogs and they get pretty birdie while in the woods.
  11. My keys go righ tinto my caching bag when i stop and get out.... hopfully i don't leave them as some swag. lol
  12. Oh I see i have a night vision light that we bought extra with ours and that added some but i am interested in seeing what you are talking about.
  13. That is truly awesome i would love to do that cache. I think that it would be sweet I am gonna make one similar to that in MN. Won't really be able to access it in the winter but should be fun in the summer. Did you read that last found log oh so awesome. In your case, I would probably disable it when the water got cold and not renable it until late spring. While I am sure someone will chime to say "you don't really have to find every cache" or something along those lines would treat a cache which required immersion in water a bit different. Almost anyone can assess the risk pretty accurately for a cache that on the side of a cliff, or high up in a tree, but based on all the stories I've read about inappropriately dressed people going out in canoes or kayaks in the early spring and not living to tell about it, I think that there are a significant number of people that underestimate the risks of cold water. Very very valid point i was thinking the same i don't want someone to get hurt or die due to the cold water that is a serious thing. I don't want to hear about anyone dying while geocaching on one of my caches.
  14. My video camera has this function already on it. I can just view through eye piece or flip out the viewing screen no need for mods.

  16. Yeah this is exactly what i was thinking about doing. So my question to you guys then is doesn't it have to be a 5 for the terrain because it requires special equipment?? Or is that all up to the hider? I am gonna try to contact brp000 and see how he seals the box and everything. Thanks for your help guys.
  17. One step ahead of ya there...I've posted it all over the place Good luck
  18. You might try it on ebay and see what you can get for it there.
  19. That reminds me of a snarky T-shirt I wanted to get made: "Every time you hide a film canister, God kills a kitten" My wife wouldn't let me... sniff. How else can you assure a double tap, center mass? Them kittens are kwick! \The way i see it that cat is breaking and entering. He is definitely across the threshold. Besides kittens are really dangerous it may have disarmed him before he got the chance to pull the trigger. lol
  20. You can get Vantage point software downloaded right from www.magellangps.com. under downloads. I have a 1500 as well but what has been laid out on how to do it should get you there.
  21. If you want night vision some video cameras come with night vision options so you may have it on your camera than you can record your cashing too.
  22. No, actually from what I saw, it's the Magellan 500 that is on sale for $199.00. The gps I'm selling is the 1500. Walmart Handheld GPS Unless you were referring to Walmart.ca...which doesn't sell handheld gps's. So I'm not sure where you got that info from. Care to share the source? Well i actually purchased my 1500 adventure pack at walmart for 199.99 my man. So i would take it back to where ever you got it and return it.
  23. I cache without a compass I have a Magellan Triton 1500 and it doesn't have it. I have not found a need for one yet but then again i don't have to many caches under my belt. I have been deep in the woods and had to pull out the external antenna. I see how it would be nice but most of them i have played with the ones in the stores on various gpsr and they aren't that good. Get a good regular compass ( none digital) this should help you if you feel the need to use a compass that is what i do and most of the time it stays in my bag. Just my thoughts on this.
  24. I came across this event (GC1KKZA) down in AZ coming up that has a Poker Run going for it. Might explain the rules of that one a bit for those unfamiliar with it. Very cool clears up some of the rules. Why reinvent the wheel if you don't have to.
