  1. Maybe they were stoned, and had the bag with them?
  2. Wow, someone called "MicroManiacs" just had published 150 new caches .... Microinvasion 1 through 150. All in or around Brandon, Fl. (just SouthEast of Tampa) Its a nightmare for those who dont like micros Sounds like a TON of work... The FTF hounds will be out in force tonight, in a howling feeding frenzy.
  3. Hello all, my wife, who got me started on this crazy hobby of geocaching, but now of course HATES it, wanted to know if there are any underwater geocaches. When she asked me, I thought "Wow shes showing interest" Can any one give me the GC codes of a few underwater caches. (salt water) In her defense, of not likeing caching, she doent care for the urban micro, parking lot hides (you know) she does show interest in the traveling to diferent/interesting spots type caches. Thanks in advance.
  4. Google street veiw, caught my mom getting the mail at the mail box in Cocoa Beach.
  5. I was perusing the FGA (Florida Geocachers Asc.) web site, www.floridacaching.com , as I was checking out all the best hides, named by the FGA representives, I was shocked to see two of my hides on the list of 73. I must say I am quite honored, and "blown away". It will definetly inspire me to try and be more creative on my future hides, (as I feel I was getting kind of lazy) If yall are interested go to, www.floridacaching.com and my two are "5 mile travel bug cafe", and "Hidden Mickey" Thanks for reading......... happy hunting.
  6. After looking at the condition of my GPS, Dirty and scratched up, apparently, I just throw it carelessly on sticks n stones n dirt. I gotta take better care of that thing, its been so nice to me.
  7. I think if you drilled two small holes in each cartridge base and strung some fishing line through and made some cool necklaces. That would reasure people that the cartridge was inert.
  8. Shirley, you jest. The highest point in Florida is probably a freeway overpass. Stop calling me "Shirley". : ) I would carry my pistol in the woods, but it weighs about a hundred lbs. : ( Virginian Dragoon 44 mag. If I had a smaller caliber .38 or 9mm. I think Id carry it.
  9. I couldnt say I have a #1 favorite, but one that I found lately was "Stewart Homestead" GC153A7 . It and old "Florida Cracker" homestead with not much standing but an old shed/house some concrete slabs and the burial site of the couple who were AXE MURDERED there. YIKES! This cache is Waaaay out in the "Green Swamp" and there is normaly no one around anywhere. Its a little creepy standing there by yourself. It does not get visited very often, my log is the latest right now, check it out.
  10. For multible logs, I find that a combination of "cut n paste" and comments specific to each cache is best, for me. I may have the same paragraph describing the weather, why Im in the area, something unusual happening during this cacheing run ect.. Then I say a few words about each specific cache, condition, veiw, how its hidden, if I took and left something. Followed by the standard Signed Log, Thanks for the Hide I would never consider cut and pasting the exact same log for multible caches.
  11. Theres a store in Merrit Island, Fl. Near Cocoa Beach, Fl. Go to the Space Coast Geocachers Association website, Im not sure, but I think they are associated in some way. No, Im not associated in any way. I live West of Orlando. : )
  12. Two days ago, I took my bike out to find one leg of the "Green Swamp Challenge" GCWJCE in West Central Fl. The first couple of miles I was loving it, moving right along a logging road and then a nice dry elevated trail. : ) Knocking down Huge Bannana Spider webs over the trail. : ( Then Oh Oh! It IS a swamp you know. I was able to ride a little and then walk and push, then MY FAVORITE carry the bike through the water. Then the Trail DISSAPEARED? Had to go back, running out of water at that point, in 100 + degrees in the sun. As a native to Florida, I decided it would be best to wait till cooler and more dry weather to complete this challenge, then the trail would be more visible and drier. Yes, I love to use the bike to cache very useful tool.
  13. He told us once. He had dozens of tabs open in his browser with just the minimum info filled in. He would submit one every so often and when it got close to GCZZZZ he hit submit on all of the remaining ones. But like I said, he didn't get GCZZZZ. He got GCZZZY: Game Over and GC10000 - A New Beginning. Jeesh! No wonder this web sight is soooo slow.
  14. Busted/sprained my ankle about 4 weeks ago, Ive been nursing it since. Sucks too, Im an avid runner. Biking now.
  15. Nope! Denied! Its not on Disney property. That is one of the requirements. Some private citizen sure likes Disney.
  16. VERY BAD IDEA. should a thief steal your incar gps, they know your name, address and the fact YOU AREN'T HOME. thieves are doing that here in phoenix to rob your house. If a thief breaks into your car to search your gps for it's home location they could just open the glove box and look at your car registration or insurance card and get the information easier. Yep, and like "Dinoprophet" said, they grab your garage door opener and bingo their in your house.
  17. Jeese! Im Glad I read this thread. I go caching in the "Green Swamp" just NW of Orlando, Fl all the time. I find/pull two to three ticks off me every time I get to the truck. Snakes, Spiders (Bannana spiders) and Gators dont really bother me much, ...... but ticks just CREEP me out. So do infamous Florida COCKROACHES.............. : ( :0
  18. Hey IK, thanks for suggesting that. I went ahead and submitted the waymark. I used your image, hope you dont mind.
  19. Check out my "Hidden Mickey" cache. GC1QH8E Its not on Disney property but its close to the backdoor.
  20. I suppose the reason behind waiting to log, was to get my fellow FTF hounds to go for the new cache, which they might not have done if they saw my log. I know my "FTF freinds" would understand, but a newbie or someone just heading out to get a far and few FTF might be upset. Im not going to rush home to log FTFs, I just wont deliberatly delay anymore.
  21. Well, after reading just the first few responses, I suppose its a Bad idea. I never meant it to be deliberaly mean, just a lil ribbing between cachers who know each other (of course I wouldnt know if someone I know, or dont know will be STF). For the record, I will not deliberatly delay logging FTFs anymore. I guess thats why I asked. Thanks for your opinions.
  22. Do you really mean that? I am actualy looking for opinions on this. You know with the price of gas and all. I think of it as kind of freindly kidding among fellow cachers. I'll check back and if I get more negatives than positves, I suppose I may change.
