  1. I'm very happy with my Vista C. I have almost the whole state of Indiana loaded from the City Select software and also have 500 waypoints downloaded.
  2. Yes, that's what I needed, thanks. I am fairly new to the Palm software and didn't notice/know about the I being the information button up there. Thanks!!
  3. How do I put in my home coords into cachemate so I can sort by nearest? When I try it just says Missing or invalid coordinates. I guess I don't know what format it wants. Also, when I do a Search for Cachemate Home it comes up as zero entries. I assume perhaps that it is searching for the exact phrase "cachemate home". Is there a way to search for two words not necessarily in order? Thanks!
  4. It shouldn't. If you sync it at home it will just mirror what you have on it, which is the same thing you have at work. Ebay is your friend. You can get a good Palm for around $30. Brian is right, I've done this in the past before so I could sync up Outlook at home and at work. It just syncs with the data on your PDA so it shouldn't screw up a thing. Then I set up a terminal server at work and have not used the PDA as I get in my email that way. If you wanted, you wouldn't even have to set up the sync at home for your email, schedule, etc. Just use it for the cachemate ( or insert the software of your choice ) that you are using at home.
  5. I don't really have a personal log, or for that matter know by that exactly what you mean, the cachemate looks like it has a spot for me to put in notes after I make a find. I generally don't do THAT many per day so using that method and then going back and inputing them at geocaching.com shouldn't be too big an issue for me. I'm going high tech in baby steps.
  6. Ok. getting all this set up is almost as fun as caching. ( I did say almost ) I've bought a PDA, got cachemate, a premium account, and have just downloaded waypoints to the GPA. I've also downloaded the waypoints to the Garmin. Now I wanna go caching!!!!
  7. eBay I use the ACEF method when shopping. Always Check eBay First.
  8. There is one near me that I have done. It is just outside the airport property. Airport VOR-A Cache I'd say as long as you're not on the runway, it should be safe. []
  9. Just give it up for lost and buy an Indianapolis Colts hat. Pardon me, but the correct procedure is to trade up. Edit: Go Broncos! What's Denver's record as compared to the Colts? You might also ask the cache owner to put something on the main cache page. That way when your log drops off the main page people will still see it.
  10. Sounds like she wanted a little 'Moose Love'. a moose once bit my sister
  11. If you don't find someone here, try eBay. Always great deals there.
  12. Two suggestions. 1. Try eBay and see if someone will ship them to where you are. 2. Post something in the South and Southwest forum. Someone there may be near you and have some they'd be willing to sell.
  13. I hid my first cache on the back side of my fence in my backyard which is also accessible via a church parking lot. I made it clear in my description that one did not need to go over or through any fences to get to the cache to keep people off my and my neighbors yards. It's still on my property, but nobody crosses into my yard. If done properly with a good description, I don't see a problem with it. If you don't want cachers there after dark, just say so in your description. Most people I'm sure will respect that.
  14. I'm yet another very satisifed Vista C owner. Welcome to the club Steve. I have to agree with your comment about the people who post her. I've been a member of many, many different kinds of forums over the years. By far this is the most friendly bunch I've ever been a part of. In the short time I've been reading the forums I've already seen the repetitive questions. I've yet to see anyone get upset at anyone for not doing their research first before posting. Any other forum you would see half the regulars slam the "noobie" Good luck on your hunts. It's going to be halfway warm tomorrow here in Indy ( if you want to call 50 degrees warm ) and I plan on hunting a few myself tomorrow. Have fun!
  15. yes, you post a note in your own cache, and then just drop it in like you would another cache. I just dropped two in my cache a day or so ago.
  16. Can I safely assume that the off topic forum is another premium member only spot? It's either that or I'm in dire need of a refresher course on message boards.
  17. I hate it when you go to a store that has a double set of doors, and one of them is locked. Both doors are obviously made to be opened, why lock one of them?!?!?!??!!?!?
  18. I generally leave my gun in my Jeep. But I will almost always bring along my coffee!!! Sure it won't protect me if a bad guy comes after me, but the caffeine might make me run real fast.
  19. If anyone can't tell already, I love to post pictures in forums. When I saw the title of your post, this immediatly came to mind. by the way. TGIF!!!!!
  20. I figured that was the case. As soon as I buy a PDA to go paperless, I'll be doing the premium thing.
  21. Is this a premmy only thing? I changed it where I think I am supposed to on the my account page, but it keeps going back to blank anytime I go back into the page. TIA, Jeff
  22. That would indicate the size of the cache. From Micro to Large.
