  1. Check into http://www.iespell.com/ While few languages are currently available, there might be options built into the great ap if you communicate directly with the author.
  2. Also, jump over to www.gsak.com and get involved there - Really helpful and a lot of resources.
  3. Wow! What a thread so must add to it. I do all of that said but don't get a cm2gpx.gpx file created. I deleted all caches in CacheMate except those in the found category and inside backup my updated file is called MainItems-cMat.PDB and it only contains found caches. The noted macro (run convert and also import to GSAK) says no gpx found which is correct, a gpx isn't created. Here is my BAT C:\Program Files\GSAK\cm2gpx\cm2gpx.exe -f -o C:\Program Files\GSAK\cm2gpx\cm2gpx.gpx C:\Program Files\palmOne\Bill\Backup\MainItems-cMat.PDB ? Tks
  4. My trusty Tracker, kayak, backpack, and me!
  5. Thanks It is sad that there are some "rotten apples" among us, and there always will be, but here in Florida the parks & wastelands management do restrict placement with "permission required," and our reviewers make sure this happens. Sure there is abuse, but for most I tend toward the "fun, enjoyment and respect" side of the game.
  6. Some fun First time I did this one I had to be airlifted out - PawPaw Cache, Brevard County, Florida. This time the front door by bike. Vacation time in Guatemala: MUNDO MAYA in Tekal and Cerro de la Cruz outside Antigua. An island in Banana River, Brevard County, Florida. Variety helps! Enjoy, Z_Statman
  7. For Baldwin County, across the bay from Mobile, contact ParrotHead who has several in the area http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=c4...ef-8f52e3879a64 Z_S
  8. Some folks may still be here, let me know what I can do Z_S
  9. The Ocala National Forest has "millions"
  10. Averaging is great and does fine tune GZ, but, remember that the civilian response to the GPS network is only about 3-10 meter accurate so being off 20' can be "good." Also, I have a Meridian Color and my GZ is pretty much always about 3-5 meters off from coordinates provided by a Garmin. Bottom line - get close and work the "geosense" from there on.
  11. Had my Color for about 2 yrs now and still learning about it, but overall am very pleased. A notable is the "walk about," or something like that you might hear about. Magellans in general have a slower processor than Gamins so you can walk past GZ, typically around 20', then be brought back. My "workaround" is when I am 50'-100' feet out slow down, when around 20' am probably there so wait a couple of minutes for the unit to settle in. Have fun!
  12. While a lot were lost due to the fires a lot still remain or are being replaced as we speak! Don't bypass the affected areas without checking a PQ first, you might be supprised. Z_S Brevard County, FL
  13. Run really fast or come prepared Then stay calm! ZS
  14. When you create a Region and save it you can load it to the GPSr card via a reader so no S# is required.
  15. There are 2 install option for the 2D topo, one is the full install that doesn't require the CD to be in the drive. Try it again.
  16. Thanks 9Key, I also was looking for these forms
  17. Are you using GSAK to export your waypoints to Cachemate? You also might post this in the GSAK thread where Clyde will reply much more quickly. Z_S
  18. Why don't you ID at Lat/Lon then enter it in PQ for a listing. There are a lot in town and around the area. Z_S
  19. Depending on where I am I use the base map or the topo, as I am sure most do. Anyway, I was out this weekend in a local park and set a waypoint via topo then switched to the regular map. Seems that once all settled in the reference point was almost 20' different. That is, the waypoint was based on topo but when I switched to the regular map and standing in the same point the lat/long was telling me to more to another point about 20' away. Any thought as to why? Tks, Z_S
  20. Check it out, 1/20/06 article USA Today Article Z_S
