  1. My wife & I are planning about a 2 week trip to Ireland next year sometime in May and would appreciate any suggestions as to site seeing, places to stay (like countryside hotels or even renting a room at farms, the nontraditional places). I have the OSM map of Ireland that helps a lot. Thanks for the input
  2. And my $0.02 If you are in it for the numbers you really aren't going to experience the game
  3. My wife & I are planning a trip to Ireland around 2nd Quarter 2011 and hoping to get some insider information on where to go and what to see during our 10-12 day stay. The plan is to rent a car then try to pre-book places to stay, to include perhaps some time in a farm house. We do not consider ourselves tourists but enjoy being a part of the community and meeting the locals. Yes, there are also caches and will get along the way Would appreciate any advice Thanks
  4. I load a gpx file via GSAK then also export a POI file of the same caches as a backup
  5. g-o-cashers, is this "touch utility" and actual software application or using the OS to alter the file's attributes?
  6. If in the area around Merritt Island and Tosohatchee Nature Reserve off Hwy 520 you should look at The Architect Give yourself 2-3 days and will need a water craft.
  7. Mine did as facade66 noted so did a hard reset and unit seems more stable
  8. Also set the Terr/Diff appropriately, at least a 2.5 as I recall
  9. ventura_kids Have tries the connect/disconnect several times. I seems as though it will find the GPSr then doesn't. Using the same cable use on my desktop which works fine Running Win XP and have the Garmin USB driver loaded
  10. I have a similar issue with my 550 and laptop
  11. Yes got that but are you saying via chkdsk (Running Win XP)
  12. Take a look at this thread. http://garminoregon.wikispaces.com/message...w/home/26658837 Scroll down to see my post wrt unit crash & gpx file gone - Are we having the same issue?
  13. Just notified that available via Webupdate Lets see how goes!
  14. This is different from clearing out Found caches
  15. You do a Caches Along a Route via GC.com's pocket queries of if you have the caches loaded into GSAK can use the route macro
  16. Are you talking about the list under Where to>Recent finds? If so then can't except by a Hard Reset
  17. And make sure the cache gpx file is in Garmin>GPX on the SD as are on the unit
  18. What about making sure the Where to> is Off road My 550 is running the 3.74 beta and aside for some random crashes when go to view a cache description find the compass working as might be expected
  19. Not so fast Team Cotati, it could particularly regarding WAAS and sat refreshing. There is a lot of battery drain here and a low level can affect that refresh.
  20. So correct briansnat Once I am in the area I switch to Compass where I have 4 data fields: Lat/Long, Dist to Dest, Battery level and GPS accuracy I find that the Lat/Long & D to D turn out to be very reliable, within a few feet. Battery level is noted because I have found that when it shows 1-2 bars the "accuracy" degrades dramatically. HTH
  21. Under Where to>Recent finds, how can this list be cleared? Running 3.71 Beta
  22. Been running 3.71 on my 550 since it came out and no problems as described but a couple of other issues: Getting the diagnostics screen sometimes causes a shut down and can't get rid of past "finds" via Waypoints>Recent Finds
