  1. Congratulations to darapotter on their; 1000th Cache Well done!
  2. Yip I live in Reading... Plenty of caches in the area, and also a very good platform to visit London, 24 minutes by train. Do you work in the IT industry?
  3. Lassitude has a cache in Berkshire that has a "inner sanctum" which you can gain access to if you do the longer version of the cache, by way of a key guarded sometimes by a snake . if memory serves the inner sanctum is inside the main cache container so that there is no rusting of the parts.
  4. All of Great Britans Counties: Aberdeenshire Anglesey/Sir Fon Angus/Forfarshire Argyllshire Ayrshire Banffshire Bedfordshire Berkshire Berwickshire Brecknockshire/Sir Frycheiniog Buckinghamshire Buteshire Caernarfonshire/Sir Gaernarfon Caithness Cambridgeshire Cardiganshire/Ceredigion Carmarthenshire/Sir Gaerfyrddin Cheshire Clackmannanshire Cornwall Cromartyshire Cumberland Denbighshire/Sir Ddinbych Derbyshire Devon Dorset Dumfriesshire Dunbartonshire/Dumbartonshire Durham East Lothian/Haddingtonshire Essex Fife Flintshire/Sir Fflint Glamorgan/Morgannwg Gloucestershire Hampshire Herefordshire Hertfordshire Huntingdonshire Inverness-shire Kent Kincardineshire Kinross-shire Kirkcudbrightshire Lanarkshire Lancashire Leicestershire Lincolnshire Merioneth/Meirionnydd Middlesex Midlothian/Edinburghshire Monmouthshire/Sir Fynwy Montgomeryshire/Sir Drefaldwyn Morayshire Nairnshire Norfolk Northamptonshire Northumberland Nottinghamshire Orkney Oxfordshire Peeblesshire Pembrokeshire/Sir Benfro Perthshire Radnorshire/Sir Faesyfed Renfrewshire Ross-shire Roxburghshire Rutland Selkirkshire Shetland Shropshire Somerset Staffordshire Stirlingshire Suffolk Surrey Sussex Sutherland Warwickshire West Lothian/Linlithgowshire Westmorland Wigtownshire Wiltshire Worcestershire Yorkshire
  5. Thanks Teasel. So does that mean some of the stats that we get from GC:UK are scraped? Surely it would be in there(GC.com) interest to setup a Web Service(as it is already written in ASP.net) that can be subscribed to. It would almost certainly put an end to the webscraping taking place, which does reduce performance for everyone else.
  6. slightly off topic... but... while in town yesterday, my partner was accosted by a lady advertising a tupperware party, she was most surprised when i expressed more interest than my partner did... is this another sign of addiction i have the details if anyone is interested
  7. Thank you. I am holding my breathe... (prod me if i go blue)
  8. API (Application Programming Interface) It will give people a means to write programs, so that they can automate some of the more time consuming tasks, like writing logs. More Info
  9. Well... what is missing is all the new caches that have been placed in the last week. Some of the exisiting caches aren't updating either. Not sure why. Also it seems to have had a knock on effect on the mobile midlet. I now it is not the end of the world, and won't loose sleep over it, but the interactive map is a very cool part of the site, which GC.com don't come even close to matching for functionality and ease of use at the moment. I would like to know the reasoning behind it?
  10. yip yip yip!!! couldn't agree more.
  11. Thanks The Hokesters. But this puzzles me even further. Why after all this time, have they stopped allowing GC:UK access??? and seemingly with no explanation? The only thing that i can think of is that makes sense is that the long awaited API is about to be released, and they(GC.com) want GC:UK to use that instead. I have a couple of conspiracy theories as well, but westonwanderers beat me to it.
  12. This message on the UK STATS page of GC:UK in particular: "03/08/04 - The G:UK server is currently unable to contact GC.com"
  13. A question to anyone who has an answer. I have been away for a bit... and would just like to know what's going on? i.e.: What has happened to GC:UK? [EDIT: my grammar leaves a lot to be desired]
  14. just too second that, got that same error when i tried 16 color, 256 or grayscale ones all seemed to work okay.
  15. Well having only used fugawi, i can only offer my findings... With Fugawi, it seems to be out sometimes, not by much, but about 5-10 meters, i only use Fugawi to get me onto the right footpath and use my GPSr from there on in. HTH
  16. Thanks Marc Have just emailed Lactodorum. Edit Corrected spelling
  17. I am almost sure this has been covered before and I can't remember the answer... (wasn't able to find a thread) There is a Cache not far from me that hasn't been found since November, am almost sure it has disappeared, and the owner does not seem to respond to emails either... What can I do?
  18. both posts are correct. I as a premium member, am able to change my forum name. Regular members(like your self) can't change theirs at all. it will automatically change to geocacher once you have done more than 10 posts.
