That's what I did the last two days. I think I will just continue to do this and leave neat stuff we have found on our adventures in other places. We left some rock and mineral samples (cool stuff) with notes where they came from in some caches yesterday.

Oh see that's what I get for not reading everything myself. Hubby signed us up. He got the idea after seeing business cards and other things linked to peoples jobs in caches.

I've only found 11 so far but so far all of mine have been right on the coordinates or if not a clue in the description like "under the tile" or "not near the pole" make it very clear where to look once there.

Is it considered bad form or a etiquette violation to make a cache that is self promoting? I make small crafts and sell them. My husband suggested that once we get the hang of this and learn our GPS better that we hide a few caches with items I made or even coupons for free stuff from my online shop. Is that allowed? frowned upon? Does anyone even care?

Thanks and thanks for the links. We actually just started on the 3rd of January. We started rock hounding last year and hubby came across this and we decided to give it a try. 2 days and 11 caches and we are starting to catch on.

I'm really struggling with this issue. We just started on the 3rd of January and with kids we don't want to be driving for hours and doing major hikes for 1 or 2 finds. However many close by require stealth. We are having a hard time deciding how much stealth is enough and figuring out the difference between being stealth and looking like criminals. I don't want people to lose their caches but I'd like to be able to participate with my kids. Or am I wrong and is this just not really a kid/family thing?
