  1. Hello, Just got the new PN40, and eager to get out and find my first cache. However, the instructions that came with the unit seem to be leaving out a step ot two. Does anyone out there have the experience with downloading the loc files into the Topo USA file (I've got this part down), then exporting it to the PN40? Any help is greatly appreciated!! Jon
  2. Hello, Ok, now I'm looking at the Delorme PN-40 because I am real impressed with the map options and it seems like a better value. However, as has been mentioned in other forums, you can go online and buy one for about $320, but it comes with 500MB of internal memory versus if you buy it directly from Delorme, it comes with either 1GB or 8GB of memory. So, am I better off going with the reduced option online and just buying the external 8GB or 16GN cards or would I be happier with the larger amount of internal memory? I would hate to buy the cheaper one then realize it made a big difference with the larger internal memory. Any feedback is really appreciated! Thanks, Jon
  3. Thanks vwaldoguy! I live in NH but do travel around the country somewhat. I have never looked closely at the topo maps, do they show hiking, ATV, horse, snowmobile trails? Or are there separate maps to purchase? How does the Garmin topo map compare to the National Geographic ones? Thanks again for your feedback!
  4. Hello, So much information out there, almost too much! I am also torn between getting the 60csx or the oregon 400T. I also have a Treo, which I always carry, so maybe the 400T is not needed since I can save anything in a word doc?? Besides the larger touch screen and the preloaded topo maps, does it make sense to step up to the 400T? Seems like after looking around at all the deals, and purchasing the topo maps separatly, it's still $100 cheaper to go with the 60csx, or am I missing something? I was also considering the Delorme PN40, but looks like it would be more cumbersome to load info from this website. Is Garmin part owner or something? Thanks in advance with your help, can't wait to try out the new toy!!
