  1. Question:

I notised a cache had not been visited for months only after I left a bug there. Should I go back and move it? How long is it ok to leave it there? It´s not in a hurry I guess, but I feel bad just leaving it sitting there.

If you want go get it and move it along. The idea is for it to move from cache to cache and on its intended goal if it has one.

  2. I'll take a set AG.

My geonick is named after my cat, Shilo. I had to put her down due to health issues 3 years ago. My other cat(that is still with me) was a stray my ex talked me into keeping. <_<

To bad you wouldn't have these by the weekend I'll be your way. Oh well :) At least I will be able to see them all(your cats!!)

  3. I agree Echo Echo.

The whole point of the race is to get geocoins out and traveling. This year seems to be worse than the past and I think its the influx of new cachers using smart phones and Tom Toms thinking caching would be easy. Although smart phones are getting better it does take some work to find caches with them over a hand held GPSr designed for off the road use.

Also, a lot of new cachers recently start caching for a couple weeks then stop for whatever reason and during this time often pick up trackables and forget them. I've had this happen to a couple of my personal geocoins.

  4. The standings are updated :D

    Go, Peacock racer, GO!

Thanks for updating the standings. I check on my racers every now and again, although it's been fairly slow for my racers. BTW, I still have one of five racers from PGRIV going!

I've been slacking, which I'll try to improve. Not much movement considering the length between updates :(

I've got one from PGR II still going!!

  5. I am in West Cobb Co. Marietta ( near Dallas and Kennesaw) I am so new to this also. Just started on Monday. Would love to meet others who do this.

Check out GC2NVDJ and come on out to meet others in your area.

  6. The military alone is enough to keep something like this from going through. Anything that would interfere with GPS even if it is locally will hurt the nation.

The Military doesn't use the L1 freq, they have their own they use.

This was my thinking, the DoD doesn't care because they don't use L1.

But it makes you wonder if the GPS tests the DoD is doing currently is related to this in some way?

    But do the airlines?

Evidently the airlines do because the DoD sent the test information to the FAA(and them only) and advised of GPS interference. I doubt the DoD would want a military grade GPS in a commercial airliner.

  7. Don't email me, lol.

For all your geocoin questions DO e-mail her...lol.

I'm going to run and hide now and move to Antarctica!!!

Seriously though, the GGA forums are probably your best place. As AG said most people bought 2(like myself). I looked through my Going Coastal stuff and only have the 1 and I'm keeping it.

  8. Don't you need to have the correct drivers from the manufacture installed to use the Send to GPS feature. So i think it will depend on which GPSr you have and if the manufacture has support for Unbuntu.

That would be Garmin and they don't. Neither do the other 2 GPS manufactures on the list. I just hate flipping over to my WIN partition if a new cache comes out. I can type it in manually quicker, so that is what I'll continue to do.

I was hoping maybe someone in the Linux community wrote something to do this.
