Container to fit in a drainpipe
HouseOfDragons replied to HouseOfDragons's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Oooh, those look good, Mrs B. thanks. No, it's not an actual downpipe. Its a left over length of actual downpipe which is being out to a far more entertaining use -
Container to fit in a drainpipe
HouseOfDragons replied to HouseOfDragons's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
I@m going to have to find my tape measure aren't I? (sounds of rummaging and scurrying) It's a shade over 6cm (2 3/8 inch in old money I've got a 0.33l beaker type container that fits beautifully except for the lid (which is, you'll agree, essential for waterproofing). I was very excited when it arrived this morning (more excited than the fact that my son's missing christmas present was in the same box) but it didn't fit -
I need a waterproof container that will fit inside a standard sized drainpipe (ie a downpipe from roof guttering). I thought I had one but the lid makes it too big to fit in Any suggestions please? Obviously micro containers fit but I was hoping for something bigger!

Mine has my mobile number and "reward if found".

How does one add a cache to the "Fizzy" list?

Thanks. I thought it was something like that. -

Ok, I'm happy to appear ignorant... What's a Fizzy challenge? -

New World Record - 413 geocache finds in ONE day

Well, didn't you just post all those things...? -
I found a travel bug tag once under the leaves near a cache - just the tag and chain. When I got home, it turned out it had been in a muggled cache nearby several months earlier. I contacted the owner asking what they'd like me to do and when I'd heard nothing for a month, I re-released it with a new traveller on it (with a similar sentiment to the original). It now bears no resemblance to either its name or original photo but at least it's out travelling again.

iTouch Geocaching Apps
HouseOfDragons replied to NickandAliandEliza's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Thanks - I looked in the iTunes store and couldn't find it - didn't realise it was the "intro" version . I have a sparkly new iPhone 3GS (cue Gollum like stroking and muttering of "my preciousssss") -

Where can I find that? -
I agree and thought the hint should probably be a more simplified version, or maybe just explain exactly what each of the symbols mean. I didn't want to be accused of being too alienating. I have absolutely no idea what you were talking about in your original post and I don't feel alienated Well, no more than usual...
-
I wouldn't give the coordinates in the hint. Help on how to solve it maybe but not the answer. If the answer is in the hint, it's not a 4/5 difficultly - how would you know who used the hint (a 1* difficulty) and who didn't? Good idea though. Not every cache has to be doable by every cacher.

Logging caches you helped hide
HouseOfDragons replied to Opalblade's topic in General geocaching topics
I've done this but rather than find it myself (which is silly as I'd know exactly where it is), I send the smaller members of the team out on their own with the GPSr. They don't often get the chance to cache alone. Never log it as a FTF though. -
I sold a McDonald's Muppet on Ebay for £8 once. Madness. (I do have a complete set of Monsters Inc around here somewhere...)

I agree with this and the quotes from the two posts above HappyHumphrey

I'm impressed I've never met him but he said some nice things about a series of caches I set so clearly he must deserve the accolade of being #1! -
Happens all the time, sadly. A friend and I released 8 travellers at WWFM V (London). 3 got left in the event listing - 1 popped up in a London cache a week later, one popped up in Epsom about 3 months later and the last one popped up 2 weeks ago in France after being "lost" for 6 months. All with no explanations. There is hope though - I've found a few "lost" travellers this year.

Save the travelbugs please

lol!! *sips coffee* bet yer gonna log a *First To Rescue* eh? I have essential Christmas shopping to do in Parson's Green! (and it certainly beats taking the SmallDragons to play rugby!) ah yes, of course *checks daily cache excuse calendar* makes sense now! And here I was hoping the waders and such were for the last cache placement I am waiting for given the state of those woods at the moment, they may not be a bad idea. Mission accomplished... Box retrieved and presents purchased! -

I may well be over in nearby Parson's Green tomorrow. I'll have a look if I get a chance. -
There are several caches near me that require tools of some description to open them - I've got one myself. This is clear on the cache page, although not specific about which tool you'll need. they're usually very popular as they're a bit different from the norm.

What, like if we were rummaging around to find/hide suspicious hidden packages for example?
