I personally love the Travel Bugs and would love to get a few out there, but my very tight budget does not allow for the purchasing of any dog tags at this time, therefore I gues I am SOL at this time

I was curious. Is there any way that someone could make a travel bug and track it as usual, therefore avoidingthe cost of buying the travel bug dog tags? i.e. stamp a unique tracking number in a steel tab, etc. If so, how would we go about obtaining a unique tracking number? thanks,
