  1. I like the post about leaving instructions on how the cache was originally hid, at least this way if someone doesn't have enough respect for the owner or the other cachers after them to re hide it properly then the next respectable cacher can hide the cache properly. if this doesn't work then i am joining the ammo can band wagon! no offense to the hiders of ammo cans there are some tough ones and they sure beat a nano in a haystack!
  2. I am very frustrated, i made a custom cache that i spent quite a bit of time making. i placed it in the woods along side the building where i work. i go out and check it about once a week to make sure it is not falling apart, and what i find is that every other person replaces the cache how they think it should be hidden. it has been upside down, backwards and everything in between. after the first time i found it misplaced i edited the description to say that it did not need to be moved to open and retrieve the log and to place exactly as found. today when i went to check on it it was upside down and when i went to fix it part of it broke, i plan to fix it but it really pisses me off that went the extra mile to make a unique cache and i get a lot of good feedback but still they don't put it back the way they found it. i guess i just need to vent and it makes me not want to hide the others i have been working on and wont be able to check as often.
  3. What are your feelings on logging a did not find? I know there have been people who have looked for some of my hides and it took more than one try to find but did not log a DNF. i know i am guilty of not logging all of my DNF mostly because i forget to. i guess its just another case of ethics and being that you are basically on an honor system threes not a whole lot you can do about it. i think that if you attempt to find any cache and dont sign the log (for any reason) you should log a DNF.
  4. wow, what a thread almost didn't make it all the way through, got a good laugh at the end. i as well will never look for this cache so i figured i would at least post my 2 cents and keep the thread going. again, WOW! only been caching for 2 months and loving it, seen a lot of different swag, LMAO this was an awful funny ending thus far, it really was. i just had a premonition,(thank goodness for spell check) any way, why doesn't some one place an "oh so blue" (sorry if i got the name wrong it is to many pages back to check right now) sister cache in the states so some of the whiners can go check to make sure its there and log a visit? just a a thought. if we keep this thread going it will then become the longest forum thread on Groundspeak to go along with the ancient cache that has never been found. in closing thanks for the hide i wont be able to look for and also thank you for updating the old SWAG and container, im sure the other stuff was getting musty. So why didn't you disable the cache, LMAO Take care and happy caching.
  5. i just crossed the username into Groundspeak from Waymarking.com and found out that they already hid a micro there "wooo hoooo". i would still like to know for future reference if you can hide in previously waymarked areas. thanks
  6. i very recently discovered a very unique spot about 25 minutes from my home and my first thought was i am going to put a geo cache here. so when i got home i started putting together the info to upload. in doing this i stumbled across the fact that it had been waymarked, which is quite different than geocaching, i think. i reviewed the log online and it only has 3 logged visits and the last was about 6 months ago. i do not want to cross any geo caching boundries so i am asking if in geo caching ethics is there anything preventing me from hideing this cache? thank you to all who respond.
