  1. I am in need of help from a geocacher in the Pennsylvania area. I have a travel bug that has been stranded in the "In Fighting,, photo-bubbles" cache (GCFC94) for several months now. Several cachers have visited it but signed the logs with the infamous TNLN. Is there anyone who would be willing to go see if my TB is still there or not and if it is to help move it along? I would really appreciate it. Thank You.
  2. I have loved scrolling through all the avitars. What a creative and talented group. So of course, I thought I would jump in and see if any of you wizards had some ideas for an avatar for me. I've tried but can't come up with any ideas. I'm a proud Swedish American woman but my avatar name, Sulis, is a celtic goddess. I'm fairly new to geocaching but currently Garmin Etrex Legend is my GPS of choice. I really have been blank as far as ideas. Maybe something with celtic knotwork or the viking heritage. I was going to use a dala horse (those brightly decorated wooden horses from sweden) but never could get something I liked good enough. Or a viking ship, or I don't know...thats why I'm coming to you. If you have any ideas that would be fabulous. Thanks.
  3. Decided that a GPS would make the perfect wedding anniversary present for the parents. But I'm on a budget and can't afford to buy brand new. Does anyone have a used etrex legend or similar for sale?
  4. I just recently purchases Mapsource V5 for the US. I have read the manual and done the tutorials but I am still confused. Both the manual and tutorials say that "some versions require you to use unlock codes" but it never says which versions. I have searched through everything I have but there is no unlock code in the box. I'm not a software guru but does this mean I don't need to use unlock codes? What is it that I would need to unlock?--seems kind of strange that you pay so much for the software and then would have do something special to get it to function. Can anyone help shed some light on this? I'm a bit perplexed. Thanks
  5. Tried these on not too long ago. Absolutely fell in love with them--like walking on air. Sadly a bit too much for the budget right now. http://www.zappos.com/n/p?dp=1473136 But I can easily envision myself out biking, hiking, and just hanging out in these. Gotta love a multi-purpose shoe (or maybe thats just a woman thing)
  6. Myself, my mom, sister and 4 year old niece are all cachers. (Ok, I'm the only "active one" but the other 3 are quickly becoming obsessed--they have been on many finds already) Believe it or not, we're actually trying to get my dad involved--didn't think it would be so tough. But for now, in our family its all estrogen on our caching expeditions.
  7. 1. You can successfully squeeze in a cache or two on your lunch break 2. Your kids can tell others what the co-ordinates to the house but have no idea as to the actual address 3. You purchase your new car based on its potential caching abilities 4. You wouldn't dream of going on a vacation without first checking the local TB hotel to see if you can help any on their way.
  8. I'm curious to know what you do to designate such small and unusual containers as a cache--so its not mistaken as regular trash. I mean a carmex container--I would so pick it up and throw it away if I spot it.

    Gps Unit

Thanks so much everyone. Based on your comments I ordered a Legend yesterday. Can't wait to get it and go caching.

    Gps Unit

I am looking into purchasing my first GPS unit. What are the pros and cons of a mapping unit vs. a non-mapping unit? I'm not highly technical so any advice you can give me would be great. I plan to use the unit for more than just geo-caching but also in my travels. Thanks so much
