  1. I recently have been going to the current location, and walking to the coords. No real need for an arrow. I use the street map part to get close, and currents to pin point. Has been working pretty good. Of coarse the eyes work real nice too. Once you are in the general location, just look where you would hide something. That is where it usually is...
  2. You know that you're a NEW Geocacher when you AND your wife lay in bed at 2AM wide awake b/c you can't wait to see if someone is going to find your newly hidden cache in the morning. Finally we decided to just watch some TV
  3. My wife has the nuvi 350, and it works pretty good. Any serious tree cover, or a pretty cloudy day has u walking circles. For your basic park and grab it works perfect. Guess it depends on how serious u are going to get into this. Carrying the unit with the antenna thing up sucks too scale from 1-10 by us 7. Hope this helps
  4. It is in the "rules" b/c it is a family based activity No Adult Content
  5. I just sent it to be reviewed, how long does it usually take? TY CC
  6. That is perfect. ty I had no idea that this was here Very helpful
  7. I am wondering where is it that I could find blank logs. Not the small books, but just those papers I keep signing. Thanks for the help
  8. Nuvi series is a great starter GPS do to the price. It will work just fine in the beginning to see if you will stay with this fun. No sence in spending 300 plus dollars on something if you do not know if you will be in this for the long term. I feel so funny looking for these things in public. Like I'm doing something wrong... funny really Welcome and GL
  9. My GPS has the location alittle different than the googlemap picture. Most every picture involving caching on googlemaps has been right on. Not sure where it is, but I'll keep going until I find it.
  10. I borrowed one of those from my friend, and felt the same way. I basically used the current location part, and just walked to the posted coordinates. (matched the numbers) Did you try youtube? Seems like these days you can find everything there. Or join your local area group of cachers and have one of them show you how to use it fully Good luck Welcome CC
  11. I recently purchased this Samsung Phone in hopes to avoid dragging my laptop with me caching. I wanted the internet and GPS on it. Sadly, the GPS sucks, and doesn't give you your coordinates. The web works awesome for logging finds, but the google maps do not upload. I can't search for caches either. If I have certain caches in my wishlist I can read all the info on the page. I was hoping it was like the Iphone, or maybe I could buy an APP for caching. Anyone have any ideas or thoughts about how to use my phone more effectively for caching?
  12. GC1KX6X I didn't want to go that route yet. (asking the owner) The googlemap picture has the arrow in the parking lot of this place. There is a light pole and a trash can near by. I checked under the light pole skirt, and under the trash can. I did not go inside the trash can. Just wanted to see if this was a popular hiding spot. (technique)
  13. I'm having a hard time finding a cache at a Sonic Drive In. Where in the world would you hide something in a place like that? The owner said that he has seen this type of hide in the past, and liked it. Do people hide things in the menu boards? I didn't want to go through the trash that was near by. Anyone have any ideas? TY
