  1. I am one of those who weathered the storm here in South Ms. I came through better than most, but had damage to my house and my truck. During and after the storm, I was thinking about the many caches we have here on the coast, and how many of them would need attention after the storm. I will do what I can to check the status of the caches during my travels through the areas that were affected. Granted, I will not be able to do them all, but I will post on GC.com as to what I find at the caches I am familiar with. -Bandit
  2. I can only hope he turns out that way. He does love the woods and the hike. He has even criticized a few Caches that were just "thrown out there". So maybe there is hope. -Bandit
  3. Yes I got it to work. I have tried to explain that micros are fun too, but he is not interested. He is great with the gpsr and compass, but he is still a kid and wants to find "treasure". -Bandit
  4. Just ran the PQ with the suggestions...and it worked! Thank you. Kids can be SO demanding. -Bandit
  5. Thank you! So by entering "large" or "regular" in the search field works? Going to try now. Thanks again! -Bandit
  6. I have introduced my girlfriends son to Geocaching. He likes it, but he is not to keen on finding micros. As with all kids, he wants to find some "goodies". So I told him I would search for ammo cans only, but now I am having trouble. Is there any way to do this without filtering them myself? Even finding a ammo cache then clicking on "other caches of this type" on G.C.com doesn't return just ammo cans. Any ideas? Thanks, -Bandit
  7. Can't remember where I saw this, and I hope there are no copyrights, but how about: Geocaching-Where YOU are the search engine. -Bandit Post edit... now I see it on the front of Geocaching.com. Ooops!
  8. Benndalebandit.... Well I moved to a remote part of Mississippi and the drive to my house is about an hour on one long Hwy. So I was traveling this Hwy twice a day (at least) since all my friends lived in town. One of my friends said "You must drive like a Bandit" , and being that I lived in Benndale...the rest is history! -Benndalebandit (Benndale, Ms)
  9. 6 years in the Navy , and now I work FOR the Navy as a civilian ... doing the same thing I did while I was in which is working on the AEGIS SPY Radar and Fire Control System. -Bandit
  10. I have this exact one Here and it still works just as accuratly as my NEW Magellen Sport Trac Pro Marine that I got for Christmas. So I would say buy an old/used one, and if you realy get involved in GC, then upgrade when your wallet allows you to. -Bandit
  11. Just trying this out.....
  12. My screen name was given to me a few years ago when I moved to a VERY remote town called Benndale. My friends used to make fun of me, for having to drive for a hour one way to and from work. The called me the "Benndale-Bandit" because I am always burning up the highway between work and Benndale. So, there you have it... -Bandit
