I have a PN-20 and Dell Axim w/Cachemate we use for geocaching. Now I'm shopping navigation units for a vehicle that will allow me to add cache locations. From what I understand, adding these as custom POI's on Garmin units is done using "POI Loader". I'm looking at a nuvi 255W that according to specs accepts an SD card and up to 1000 waypoints/favorites/locations.
What I am trying to accomplish is to create as pocket query based on a route, then import the .gpx to the Garmin and the PN-20, so we can locate some caches on our road trips this summer.
Will "POI Loader" import the waypoints in the .gpx to the unit? Does Garmin then display "GCxxx" as the name of the POI? Is this stored on the SD card or is it internal? Appreciate the insight before I purchase.
