  1. Yoikes! Don't get it archived, it's only 1 away from 100 finds and was my second ever cache! ...It is buried though!.... Edited to make sense
  2. Hi You might be interested to see some previous suggestions here or here! Happy caching
  3. A big fireworks-(nearly Nov. 5th) congrats to the Sandiway searchers for their monumental 100th find at "Up Hill and Down Dale" this weekend. Despite coming onto the circuit 'relatively' recently thay've overtaken us already and placed some fantastic caches themselves in the process. Well done you fellow Wirral cachers, and good luck for all of your future caches!
  4. My GPS is far more accurate at speed. To find particularly elusive caches, I have often been seen running in straight lines past the suspected point looking for the point at which the arrow flips direction. Walking slowly usually causes the arrow to spin around too much. When the arrow flips I move further to the left/right and run again, maybe from a different angle. Kind of like a rough triangulation technique. I find it works well! It can be funny though, trying to charge through streams/gorse bushes etc. for your 'flypast'! James Edit: Spelling
  5. Just selfishly bumping this thread... I should be stuck in Amsterdam myself shortly and was wondering if any of the recent visitors have any particular suggestions of what to miss/what not to miss! (Cache-wise of course!) Cheers James
  6. My suggestion last time this was raised: Still think it's a good idea myself but that's just my opinion!
  7. Eh? Sorry - must have not explained that very well! I'm looking for a PPC application that functions as a simple GPS, using a bluetooth GPS as the data source! Any other hints, anyone? PS - Thanks anyway for replying
  8. Just been reading through the guide - Very nice, thanks. My bluetooth GPS arrived today and I'm hoping to try it out later. I wanted to download a little (freeware hopefully!) app that just replicates a simple GPS to play with at first? (Goto waypoint, arrow screen, etc. etc) ... Anybody know of one or anyone got a freeware copy they can (legally!) pass onto me? (PS It really helps if it's available as a .cab file beacuse I can't run .exe installers on my mac! ) Hope you can help, Many thanks James
  9. Would probably put it down then to a quirky interpretation of the rules/classificaion system....... with no major problems involved!
  10. That's three puzzle caches then I think.... ...We had a similar conundrum with my Maths Series. Although these are in very separate locations so I was happy to leave them as separate standalone caches that *could* be combined to get the final exam if so desired. But in this case, one would wonder why the 'collection' wasn't built into a nice multicache, yes - for 'slickness'? Were they placed at different times or all at once, I wonder? James Edit: Spelling
  11. ...A great bike multitool from one of our friends 'GeeJay's caches that has saved my bacon on several occasions! It was a new cache so still had all that nice new shiny stuff you get in new caches. I remember digging through the swap bag to find somthing of 'reasonable' value to swap it with. Think it went for a digital pedometer in the end. (Pedometer still had low milage on it ) James
  12. Ha - check out the phoney feedback from the obviously phoney buyer accounts! Who'd have an ebay ID "jjjjjjj_6" or "klfgggg"!! "the seller is very honest, i want to make friend with you"
  13. I'd like to think that I would add parking co-ords or some more help on the strength of the note. Then again, if I were in a funny mood I can see how it could be taken as criticism? As always, there lies the problem with the written word (email/text/etc.) Maybe needs a few of these to set the mood
  14. Are these free though? A lot of them are 'Cafe Nero' etc. and would require a key/pass?
  15. I was just 'James W' until my wife started caching, and then I started going out caching with my friends, my Dad, my niece, my brother in law, random people from the pub, etc. etc... Needed a more communial name to recognise the additional people with me, so 'James W' became Team 'James W' sometime in 2005! Very rarely my wife, Sara, logs under this name but at all other times I'm there with whoever is caching. Sometimes wish I had somthing more creative and generic but it wouldn't feel right to change it now. James (& associates!) PS - Eranu? - Ouvavou! (Sp?)
  16. Ahhh... cool - Thanks Might add a few myself, then! James
  17. How far out would the search go? I'm a bit stuck. I entered my postcode but it said there weren't any nearby.. Anybody know what the radius limit is to the search? Wouldn't mind seeing what's nearby! I live on the Wirral. James
