  1. OK - that's where it's at. Didn't realize that was a clickable link. Thanks
  2. OK - now I'm getting picky.....any way to include the GC Code? what's odd is the recently viewed list shows the GC code, but the found list doesn't. GG
  3. Yup....works. I see how to get there now - at least from the "old dashboard" I wasn't able to figure it out using the new dashboard (didn't think the old one would have it either - but hey another of day of being thinkless) GG
  4. How do I make a list of found caches? (other than viewing on cachly) Thanks GG
  5. Foam might work - not the great stuff however - I archived the cache and moved it to another location (better in the long run) - but will think about the foam for a future. I was thinking of some kind of attachment that would attach to the bolt - where it would act like a see saw - if you push up on it from the oppisite side of the bolt it would push the nano down and out .
  6. what I think is the issue is the bottom bolt on the sign is very close to the bottom of the sign, if you put the nano under the bolt - it shows under the sign. putting it to the side of the bolt (either side) to stick to the sign or the channel, doesn't give much room to get your finger in and hook it out because of the bolt - and it usually gets pushed up higher each attempt until the only way to get it is the magnetic stick.
  7. yup, thats what the post looks like...... problem is the gap between the tube and the bolt makes it difficult to get anything up there. the nano barely fits. I have a magnetic stick that is thin enough to make it past, and the magnet is stronger than the nano so it grabs the nano. while I agree there's a tott, although I couldn't find any sticks that would work, Ive never had to use it on any other sign caches for that reason. its annoying = and yes, I have pushed it up myself trying to retrieve it when checking on it. and the sticks I used kept pushing it further. although The hanging bison wont work well - the sign post isn't that tall and most people over 5'3" can see the top and it most likely would get muggled.
  8. ok just curious, I put out a cache recently, and I've had to "retrieve" it now a few times because it was pushed too far up and not able to be later pulled out by cachers. Funny, of all the nanos I found on signs, I've never had that problem - but for some reason this one does. Is this a common issue with sign nanos? GG
  9. I have IOS and I have been using the app "GPS Averaging" (I found this better than the" GPS Averager" app) and it seems to give me good results - especially if I walk around the tree if it's at the tree while it's averaging. And also as said, have come back on multiple days. Ive found that when looking for caches, my phones GPS is very odd at times. It will say the cache is 200 feet behind me, and as I keep walking further away, the number goes down???? then it suddently switch to pointing in front of me. I found with my iphone7 that if I change the orientation of the phone it really screws with the GPS - like if I have it horizontal in front of me, then put my hand at my side with the phone now pointing up and down when I bring the phone back to horizontal it takes a little bit for the GPS to figure itself out. Not sure if it's the Iphone7 specificially or just my phone.
  10. interesting site....allows you to setup notifications for the future as well. Mine had no issues with Geocache sites, mostly ones I was already aware of that had issues or that are dead.
  11. How can a third party website determine if your geocache account has been logged into? since I don't know the website in question - I'd question the validity / security of that website - especially if your giving it any actual account names/passwords GG
  12. What I do like about the printing of the lists using is that the map marks which cache it is by number which you can reference back to the listing. This isn't that bad and most likely will work. Shame it can't read the geocache list without having to re-import if changes are made. I tend to multiple apps and sites - cherry picking the best of each - but when one isolates itself that becomes an issue to me in usage. But it'll have to play more with the site to really see what it can do and how it will help GG
  13. I can't find any reference to an edit with a drop down list? I created a test trip - and then created a test list thinking it would then be an option. I'm using the website of cachetur not the phone app . Even the site's help says the same thing - but I can't seem to find it. Is there a "premier" version of the accounts? Thanks
  14. I'm also looking into cachetur - looks like you can't migrate your existing geocaching lists into their lists however. I don't like having to maintain lists on two sites. Unless I am not using the site correctly. GG
  15. I downloaded EasyGPS - unless I'm missing something, or I need the non-free version of the software - it doesnt look like you can print a listing of the caches in the GPX. Granted, I only spent a couple minutes looking at it.... GG
  16. Before I start putting hours into a utility to import a .GPX file and create a PDF document from it that would be a listing of the caches and other information about the cache. What I usually do is create a local list for areas that I'm visiting - but it might be nice to be able to print out that list and use it while caching - decide which ones to hit - makes notes, etc for later logging. I want to make a binder of local areas for caching for the summer - and just bringing up a list and doing a Ctrl P to print the page just doesn't give enough or formatted nicely for what I want to do. When you create a PQ and then view the PQ contents - that has a little more information but again, there isn't any way to make a nice document out of it. Granted these aren't things the phone apps would need, but rather should be options for the main geocache website page - there are not print options - only PQ .GPX files. Thanks GG
  17. Have to admit, when I pull into a parking spot and the light has a skirt or are near a gaurdrail - I will pull up the app just to make sure.....
  18. I was actually thinking that today - over the last few days I've visited quite a few caches with a few trackables, and was thinking, at least they would be glad to know the trackables were still in play - lots of play. But seems they won't know at all now.
  19. You might be right. Come to think of it, my others have mostly been drops, retrieves and discovers. It's just I never really thought about it until now given the cacher hadn't dropped it since but did a crap load of visits - which I'm ok with - she is a friend of mine so I know it's in good hands. That would explain it though. Thanks
  20. I have a trackable that a cacher has over the last 2 months visited almost 90 caches - as shown in the trackable's activity log. However, the last email notification I have received was when that cacher retrieved it from me (at an event). I've checked just about everywhere on the trackable's page, my settings and such, and didn't see any boxes that would disable any future notifications. Did I miss something? Thanks GG
  21. it looked just like a compass - the needle would rotate - but the display was a north up display.
  22. this seems to be isolated to the android phones that do not have a magnetic sensor. In our case it's a samsung J7 - not the S7
  23. Wait...this was because of an app update? or because of an Android OS update? GG
  24. about 2 months ago, our Samsung J7 stopped showing the compass when navigating - now it says the device doesn't have a compass - use the map to navigate. So it seems the J7 lacks a magnetic sensor - but why did it work in the geocache app a few months ago for the previous year or so? and just recently stopped working.
