Thank you both for the information. I think I will pack it after all.

I am about to visit China for the first time. Although this is a business trip I may get enough time to hunt down a few caches. I am concerned however having searched on line for information, that it appears that the use of a GPS devices is illegal, or at least mapping is, and the use of the device could be considered as doing so. Can anyone confirm if this is correct, or am I reading old or false information. At the least I would not want my device confiscated and at worst would hate to stay longer at the Chinese governments pleasure. If someone could let me know the current situation I would be most grateful. Thank you.

1. It's been said many times, but nano and micro caches in places you could hide a 100 litre barrel. 2. Cachers who complain about nettles when finding caches hidden in the countryside. Although not very pleasant if you expect to get off the beaten track they are a fact of life. 3. Cachers who do not read the instructions and expect to get everything off of their hand held devices, then complain when they make life hard for themselves. 4. 35mm Film pots!!! Bring on the digital revolution and get rid of these things. Grumble, Grumble
