  1. One misconseption I have run into with the Geotag GeoCoin is that some do not understand that each GeoTag GeoCoin has an individual Geocoin tracking number from geocaching.com. Each coin is fully trackable as any trackable geocoin is. Team Sand Dollar
  2. You are taking me too serious. I was trying to point out the absurdity that one coin is considered not a coin because of its name yet every other micro coin has been openly accepted. I have edited my post to remove reference to any particular coin as that was not the intent of this post. Team Sand Dollar
  3. Not really sure why you have singled me and my series out here. If you don't like it state so, state why, then move on, but do it in a thread about that coin. This thread has nothing to do with me or the series I am behind so why the personal shots at me and my series? Oh and there are about 1500 GeoJellies right now and another 1200 on the way that will disagree with you about being a geocoin. I am guessing that the "Oddball pieces of metal passing themselves off as geocoins" would include ones in the shape of sand dollars? Edit to add: If I have my way, everyone in the world will have a GeoJelly. Kids will be selling them on street corners late at night. Soon the government will start a Don't do Geocoins campaign that will fail miserably. That being said. Anyone else need a GeoJelly? I was not singling out the GeoJellies but only pointing out that "they" (I'm not too sure who “they” are) consider the GeoJellies and shaped coins such as the Sand Dollar to be geocoins while at the same time saying the GeoTag GeoCoin isn't. I could have just as well said the trains or many of the other series that push the term geocoin. I used the geoJellies since it is the closest series in concept to the GeoTag GeoCoin for now...until the crayon get made. I consider all of these to be coins. They GeoJellies are like the GeoTag GeoCoins are a way for many to be able to get there own coin at a lower price than a fully custom 1.5" or greater GeoCoin Team Sand Dollar Ok now who is the winner of the most coins in a set GeoJellies Geocoins or GeoTag GeoCoins.
  4. Does that mean the GeoTag GeoCoins are not allowed to be left in Geocoin Prisons ... I mean Geocoin Caches. Team Sand Dollar
  5. I hereby officially will start calling my coin a "GeoTag GeoCoin". And since I call it a GeoCoin it must be a GeoCoin just like all those other coins that call themselves a GeoCoin. Think about it... It is round like a geocoin. (At least most geocoins are round) It has custom personal artwork like geocoins. (Many geocoins share a common back) It is minted like other geocoins. And it is GC.Com trackable like geocoins (Well like most of them are.). And we all know that GC.Com will only issue trackable numbers for geocoins it approves of. So it must be a geocoin. Many have said they would not trade a regular for a GeoTag GeoCoin because they felt it wasn't an even trade. But then trading a GeoTag GeoCoin for a micro coin isn't far since the GeoTag Geocoin is bigger and costs more to make. Or trading a trackable GeoTag GeoCoin for a non trackable inferior coin would just seem totally irresponsible. Need I go on. I think not. Now that I got that silliness out, time for the real stuff. I got my GeoTag GeoCoins to trade for other GeoTag GeoCoins. I knew there would be many of them and I needed a more even trade since I wasn’t planning on a micro. But then again I would trade them for other coins (micro, full-size, trackable, or non trackable) if we both agreed on the trade. Disclaimer: Anyone that takes anything above too seriously need to take a step back an re-examine there view point on GeoCoins. They are only a piece of shiny metal with very little real value other to the designer of the coin and the person now owning it. Team Sand Dollar
  6. Your like picked up a semicolon and did not work. Here it is corrected. geoTags Team Sand Dollar
  7. As soon as I give the mint the go ahead for a proof on a coin I am willing to take requests for both trade or purchase so I will know what the interest is. I generally won't request payment for a coin until I have them in hand. I made an exception with the TSD 2007 Arrowhead Sand Dollar and requested prepayment for large orders so I could order additional coins to cover the larger orders. I only sent out request when the orders were for 4 or more coins. I did not require the prepayment but only requested it to guarantee those larger orders would go out in the first batch while still being able to fill all smaller orders. Even then I did not send out any invoice until I had the proofs in hand and actual coins would be in my hand within 3 weeks. Team Sand Dollar
  8. I have been sending out a lot of requests for trade but I am sure I have not reached all of you yet! I am interested in trading for 3 of each of the geotags designs. One is for myself, one is for my dad Buffalo Wings, and one is for my sister edugator. I will be handling the trade for the 3 of us. I have the following geotags to trade Team Sand Dollar Buffalo Wings edugator Thanks Team Sand Dollar
  9. This coin and well as my 2006 Team Sand Dollar geocoin and my Dads 2007 Buffalo Wings geocoin are still available for trades. I updated my wish list this weekend so take a look at my signature line for a link to the list. Team Sand Dollar
  10. I am interested in trading for 2 of these. Team Sand Dollar
  11. I'm always interested in trading for 2 of any personal coins. One for myself and one for my dad (Buffalo Wings) Team Sand Dollar
  12. The GeoTag regardless of name is a trackable geocoin with a common back and common icon. It is slightly smaller than some coins and slightly bigger than others. I got my coin as a trade only trackable coin, as did my dad (Buffalo Wings) and my sister (edugator). We got these to trade for other GeoTags as well as micro, non-trackable coins, and other coins when requested. Team Sand Dollar
  13. I will be there camping. Team Sand Dollar
  14. I too have returned from GW5 and have Mine (Team Sand Dollar), my dads (Buffalo Wings) and a limited number of my sisters (edugator) geotags to trade. Team Sand Dollar
  15. I am at GW5 and have just looked at my mail. The activation codes will be at the geocoinstore site like all my others. I have sent an email to personaleocoins and asked them to look into it. Team Sand Dollar
  16. You can pick up 25 #0 bubble mailers at SAMS Club for $5 (including tax). That works out to $0.20 each. Team Sand Dollar
  17. (this isn't directed to TSD, just a reply) There are! I know Parents of SAM's girls each have a non trackable micro and I believe they are so happy to trade that they will trade for most things. I'm willing to bet that if one of those cute little girls came looking for a trade they'd get something nice in return! There will also be some non trackable micros at GW5 I thihnk I'ce heard of a couple As for me, I have a path tag, not many only made 25, and have only entertained a few trades, but I have placed them in caches and given them away to friends. I also see them as a really nice signature item! I have a non trackable regular, it's kinda big in that it is 3D on both sides, I think so far only 1 person has said no to a trade because it wasn't trackable, which is fine by me. I don't have a GeoTag but I've had a design for something similar for awhile and may get it done in the future, at which point I'd trade for other GeoTags, coins, pathtags etc. Forgot about the POS micros. Actually I have traded for the Parents of SAM's girls non trackable micro coins. They offered me all three coins for 1 of my coin. I didn't think that was fair so I sent them 3 of my coins in trade for 2 sets of there micro coins. And I will trade for other no trackable personal micros but will try and use my geotag for trade. Team Sand Dollar
  18. Took a large number of packages to the PO yesterday. Lucky for me the clerk and I get along real will so we spent so time figuring out what was what. Bottom line is I mail all my coins in 6X9 bubble mailer doubled packaged with a bubble mailer inside. Her is what we agreed on. US Packages with 4 coin where thin enough and flexible enough to go as a first class flat. $0.80 first ox, $0.17 each additional oz Larger packages when as first class parcel, $1.13 for the first oz, $o.17 each additional oz. All packages heavier that 13oz had to go Priority mail for $4.60. But there is a flat rate envelope that can hold more than 16oz so this really ended up cheaper for me. Canada $0.69 for the first oz. $0.31 for each additional oz. All others $0.90 per oz Hope this helps Team Sand Dollar
  19. Pathtag (and non trackable micros if there are any) are only signature/regular trade items. I would not trade a coin for a pathtag but maybe a non trackable micro if I really wanted it. I place these in the catagory as they are in the $1 range to produce. Geotags, trackable micros, and regular coins (trackable and non trackable) I consider geocoins and usually trade 1 for 1. Granted these do range in cost by a couple of dollars but I figure sometimes I get the better of the deal and sometimes the other person does. Overall it will average out. Team Sand Dollar
  20. The new Sand Dollars are in and I still have plenty to trade. I will be going to GW5 so you can catch me there or I will get all new trades mailed out right after I return. (All trades previously established will go out in the mail today) Team Sand Dollar
  21. I orders prior to Yesterday are packaged up and ready to be taken to the PO. But in the process of getting them together I discovered that my estimates for postage were a tad low. With this in mind any new orders will reflect a slight increase to cover my increased postage. Two factors have effected the postage I charge. First the new coin is slightly heavier and once I go over 4 coins in a package I will be charged the first class package rate and not the flat. My new price (Including Shipping and Paypal Fees) is: US $10.00 first coin and $8.50 each additional coin Cnd $10.00 first coin and 8.75 each additional coin Others $11.00 first coin and $9.50 each additional coin Team Sand Dollar Just got back from the PO and the new prices should work out just right. Looks like any of my packages with 4 coins or less I was able to use the rate for first class flats. Above 4 coins they went first class package. The other item is once you go to over 13oz you need to use 2 day Priority mail. All in all I think the new pricing will even out overall and my coins are still around $8 plus shipping and paypal fees.
  22. My issue is not with people that will not trade and only want to sell there coin or only want to trade there coin. That is there choice. The issue is that I get a lot of responses when I ask for a trade that they want to recoup there cost first before trading. The people are intending to trading their coin but don't want to commit till later. The problem is, I do not purchase many coins, but rely on trades. I can't be expected to wait around waiting for them to decide later if they want to trade. So I take the first trade that comes along from someone that got extras of it. Then if at a later time I end up turning down a trade from them since I already have the coin. What I am asking is that if you do intend on trading your coin, set the trades up so you don't miss out on the coins that you might want. It just seems silly to buy a coin from someone to have them just turn around and buy a coin from you. We both end up losing money to PayPal. Team Sand Dollar
